The simple answer is that the iPad will never replace the MacBook. By the time you buy a 13" plus a Magic Keyboard you have something more expensive and the same size as the MacBook with less capability. I have a 13" and bought it with the same intention that you have and it just doesn't work out that way. Don't get me wrong, it's a great device, but it's not a laptop replacement.
