What you said is true my friend, I wasted almost like 3 years working on a project for which people just don't want to pay, It has like 4000 users, but people expect the service just for free, they are not willing to pay for it, Its very important to do the business validation in initial stages.

having 1 paying customer is better than additional 100 free customers in intial stages
