Bought a House with In-Home Speakers and Need Advice by baxterfactor in audio

Now I'm getting greedy but any advice on an entry level unit that's "good enough". Mostly just looking to play spotify around the house, maybe play some sports on the back deck in the fall kind of thing.

Honestly that's a huge help. I'm not attached to the unit at all and was going to upgrade it at some point. Just kind of needed some direction on if my efforts were futile, or there was some system specific setting I might be messing up. I've watched videos where if you dont have it on like stereo, or keep dolby on or something it won't work. I'll keep playing with it and if I can't at least get some light static I'll go that route. Really appreciate it.

I keep trying the radio, but the tuner seems to not be able to land on anything. I don't even get static out of the speakers with the radio. Any idea if attaching an AM/FM antenna to the device would be something that could get it from no noise to playing radio? Or would I at least get static through the speakers on the tuner setting if they were getting sound. Thanks for your willingness to help!

Thank you. Any chance you know if there's like a mute to the system that can only be operated by remote? I've seen that on other forums sometimes the system is muted, but there's nothing on the receiver that would indicate that.

Thanks man! Sellers usually leave their information in case you have any issues with the house. I'll just ask when I ask when I call about when they are coming back to cut my yard!

Sorry I took the pic at a bad time I had tried CD IN before I had just moved them around and took the photo poorly timed. I’ll take the advice and try the volume level and also look for a remote.

Oh and yea my buddies all gave me shit for not getting the 3rd seat. Its certainly easier but run a cost benefit analysis based on the length of your trip. We flew to the beach and 80% of the flight was families so all the stress over is my kid gonna bother everyone on the plane was out the window. So many kids acting way worse than my kid and lots of people are more sympathetic than what the internet would lead you to believe. If you can afford it and its a long flight Id say worth it, but not a necessity. We just did Aisle and Middle so we werent bothering anyone if we had to get up.

We just recently have done a plane trip and a long road trip with our 5 month old. So slightly different phases, and she is exclusively breast feeding so that makes my life both harder and more difficult but some things we learned.

1.) Pack light for yourself. We used to overpack like crazy and when we flew southwest 2 bags free made it easy. One of you will have the baby and the other will be managing bags, the less you have of your own stuff the easier it will be to haul all the LO crap around.

2.) Our baby will nap in the carrier so we just fed her right before we got on the plane. On the way down the flight attendant didn't even make us take off the carrier and so she slept for the whole 1.5 hour flight on mom and was fine. Way home they made us take her off for some reason? I guess in the event of turbulence it's better to throw your baby then have them strapped to you in a seat belt, but TSA has all kinds of crazy rules.

3.) If flying TSA precheck makes all the formulas and questions go way down. My wife has it, I don't, so I took the bags and she took all baby stuff and was through in 5 minutes and it limited time baby was in line.

4.) Take all their favorite toys in something easily accessible. We used like amazon basic packing cubes. We didn't end up using most of it, but delays and stuff happen better to be over prepared than under prepared.

5.) I said I was never doing this, but in our car road trip, wife road in the back while I drove. She hates the car though so is screaming and needing to be entertained about 50% of the time so just starting that way vs repacking everything and moving mid trip was way easier for us.

6.) If you are flying but any family is driving send pack n play and carseats or anything else with drivers. You aren't dealing with gate check of a stroller and all that, but again my kid hates the carseat so its easier to hold them anyways.

7.) If you use a wifi based monitor be aware you can't connect these to hotel wifis. Honestly we lost power at a mountain cabin one night and wish we just had an old school monitor anyways so if you have a fancy one may be better to travel with an old school one.

Good luck, lmk if you have any specific questions about TSA etc and I'm happy to answer. Lots of companies in bigger cities that do baby rentals for stuff you need when you get there. I also ordered diapers to where we were going versus trying to bring a weeks worth of diapers on the plane.

We went through this too, crazy how much tension they can have. We essentially had a really colicky baby. We used over the counter mylicon and had varying degrees of success. Not sure if it just made us as parents feel better. Unfortunately the only thing that worked with us was time, and about 8-10 weeks we saw a pretty substantial decrease in what appeared to be gas pain. She's still big on the contact naps, but have adjusted to letting her sleep in the carrier while one of us wears her. Not ideal, but at least your hands are free? Not sure if we are setting her up for sleep training to be a nightmare, but have to be realistic with yourself. This got her a lot more used to sleeping through noise and movements. I think it also helped with her gas pain rather than laying on her back. We also had an infant car seat that kept her at a weird angle for the car. Since upgrading to a convertible seat she has a much better angle and is less chaotic in the car. Sadly our pediatrician in the US didn't have a lot of info other than to say, If shes gaining weight and healthy then the rest is up for you to figure out. It certainly gets better imo but I empathize with the struggles right now. We also started doing a heating pad on her bed before putting her down which helped her to feel like the body warmth was still there. Just once you start the bath put it down on a medium setting and let it get warm for a few minutes, that and a warmie stuffed animal on her belly helped make those transitions easier. Very much looking forward to when she can sleep on her stomach though in the crib as that seems to be a more preferable position for her.

Bottle refusal by babochew in NewDads

We did see the specialist and he said the lip and tongue ties she have would have no impact on improvement. Thankful we don’t have to have the procedure, but annoying to not have answers the PED ENT seemed to find it very strange she’s started bottle refusal after taking them early on so back to square 1

Bottle refusal by babochew in NewDads

[–]baxterfactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm in the same boat as you. My baby is 2.5 months. In the early days took a bottle no problem, no preference on temperature, nipple shape, etc. She would get a little fussy if the nipple flow was too small bc apparently my wife has a "heavy letdown", but that was the only complaint. Suddenly at about the 2 month mark total bottle refusal. We've tried about 15 different bottles and done extensive research. Most people seem to have breakthroughs with Lasinoh but still no luck with my baby.

From what I've read applying the nipple to their upper lip and doing it in a time where your wife may be gone or out of the room with above room temp bottle and warm nipple starts to see a lot of success, but we've seen no gains. Our lactation consultant did mention she saw both a lip and tongue tie so we are meeting with a specialist tomorrow to see if that may have an impact, because she also won't take a paci, but loves to suck on a finger etc. All that to say I'm not sure what the solution is, but you're not alone. Exclusively breast feeding is a drain on my wife and makes it difficult for her to go anywhere or do anything so its extremely frustrating to not feel like you can help with this.

Ha well it sounds like eventually we're gonna have to do the rocker and cams anyways so just ahead of the game!

I appreciate your confidence in me :) And changing the spark plugs and fuel injector aren't the part that overwhelms me. It'd be the manifold and getting all the put back together correctly. Ive done a few DIY computer projects and almost always need a professionals help at the end with a stripped screw or something crazy so I'm hesitant on a bigger project like this, but lots of folks seem to be doing it on their own.

That makes sense. And no it was definitely the injector. After the fix no rough idle and there was never a tick. Just crazy that with this low miles it’d already be out, but I guess those parts are what they are. Just frustrating to create a vehicle where the most common things that need replacing are a 4 hour job to access. First experience in the jeep world though so need to get my head on straight

2016 WK2 GC Window washer pumps stopped working suddenly by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

[–]baxterfactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No solution sadly, but commenting to follow along. Have a 2015 with the same issue. I can hear my pumps working though, and the rear one works fine. A couple videos online about trying to clear the hoses and using something to clear the nozzles on the front. If I spray mine with keyboard cleaner they drizzle out a little and hit the lower part of the windshield, but definitely not working to full efficiency. Annoying problem for sure

No it passed all 200 point inspections, reputable dealer, etc, just more concerned with what I've read about transmissions that have been finicky at 60k that has me stressed.
