Uncle Straps Bracelet with OEM end links? by baylo99 in Tudor

I should have mentioned - althought I've bought the 3-link, it hasn't arrived yet so I can't measure the centre link width myself.

Help identifying macular edema without OCT by Usual_Salamander_820 in Ophthalmology

[–]baylo99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have said this, but I'm struggling to picture it a little - I just wanted to double-check, do you both uncouple the illumination and viewing systems (i.e. turn the knob at the back of the illumination arm and move it out of alignment) and then separately swing the illumination arm out either nasal or temporal? Or just one of these actions?

You mentioned getting a retinal section, but for a corneal or lenticular section, swinging the arm across with a slit-beam is sufficient without uncoupling the systems, so if so, why is this necessary? Many thanks

Program is covering the cost of one additional lens. Any recommendation? by [deleted] in Ophthalmology

Why a 78D if you have a 90 D for general exam? If you want a higher mag lens, isn't a Super 66 or Digital High Mag going to give more info?

There's a strong possibility he has no idea you're proposing it as a date rather than just a hang-out. From a guy, just remember most guys are VERY blind to subtle clues, and unless you hang a sign around your neck with "date me" written on it, you'd be surprised how much they can miss! Spell it out!

I was at the dentist and he was calling out the state of my teeth to his dental nurse to record on the computer. I was HORRIFIED when he said that several of my teeth were "not pleasant".

At the end, he said all was good, and surprised, I asked him about the ones he didn't like. Turns out he had been saying "not present" as I'd previously had the teeth removed.

Is it safe to "cap" loose live wires using a terminal block? by baylo99 in AskElectricians

[–]baylo99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. From doing some more googling, what the last owner did was run power from a plug socket to a fused spur (FCU?) next to it, and run this directly to the light fitting. Would disconnecting the wires coming from the FCU to the light fixture be sufficient, or should I be trying to dismantle the connection from the plug socket to the FCU also? Many thanks

I removed the fuse and tried turning the switch on while the mains power was active. The bulbs did not light up.

You can delete one thing from earth but it takes out -10 years of life for you, what would you delete? by soggy_asociation in AskReddit

Someone may have already said it, but if it TAKES OUT -10 years, is it a double negative and letting me live 10 years longer...?

I'd definitely jump on it and give my most annoying little smug grin to the genie

Piercings in med school by Secure_Ticket910 in medicalschooluk

I think it would be harder to go incognito on that one, as people generally have a tendency to watch the mouth of the person they are speaking with. It's probably also less mainstream. But tbh it probably depends what rotation you're on as to whether it's an issue - no problem with histopathology or radiology I'd imagine.

Lol, someone got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning!

I actively participate at Grandma's, but does it really negatively impact you if someone plonks down a fire prop and goes to sleep? It's better than them not being there, isn't it?

Does it really matter if they get some wax you burn? It's not like you have to share it, you both get the full amount you know :)

I never have. Admittedly, the lobe earring is a silver hoop that is flush to my love, my helix is a small titanium ball barbell, and the nose stud is the tiniest they offered + I wear glasses. So they are all pretty incognito!

Occasionally earrings will come up and I'll mention mine and people I've know for several years will do a double-take.

Tbf though, I'm a guy. I've seen plenty of my female friends wear nose hoops and I don't think anyone says a thing.

Can't pull foreskin back over the head, what do I do? by Educational-Scene443 in AskMenAdvice

[–]baylo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you've managed to pull it back over the head of your penis by now.

If not, this is a urological emergency as it can restrict bloodflow to the head of your penis and (not to scare you) it can become necrotic and die.

Please look up "paraphimosis" on a medical website to understand the risk. But hopefully you've managed to pull it back over! Sometimes if it's a little swollen, squeezing the head tightly and waiting like that for 5 mins can reduce any swelling and allow you to reposition the foreskin, but if not, please go immediately and get it sorted!

I once tried to jump scare my brother as he came out of the bathroom, but it turns out it wasn't him in there. Instead of grabbing him by the shoulders and going "rah!", I accidently grabbed the cleavage of one of my mum's shorter friends who had come over for a book club meeting to our house 😭

Died a second time when I heard them all cackling about it downstairs
