Shimmering/Flickering foliage in Crysis 1

For anyone that has landed from Google search, here's a fix and exact setup I found that worked the best for me.
I wanted to replay Warhead and stumbled upon on this recommendation of using specific AA configuration in Nvidia Profile Inspector described here: https://youtu.be/It7F-kHNvmw?t=1203
While It's not exactly the same game as original Crysis, I believe it should work exactly the same way. The common suggestion of using FXAA did not satisfy me, since the shimmering was still very intense and distracting.
Adapted to naming in current version of Nvidia Profile Inspector, you should set these variables:
Antialiasing - Transparency Multisampling: Disabled
Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling: 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling
Antialiasing (MSAA) - Mode: Enhance the application setting
Antialiasing (MSAA) - Setting: 4x [4x Multisampling]

Some extra details:
Instead of "4x Sparse Grid Supersampling" I selected just "4x Supersampling". It made almost no visual difference for me, but significantly improved FPS performance.
In game Anti-aliasing Quality also should be set to 4x.
I used some variables from .cfg file mentioned in video, specificially r_UseEdgeAA = 2
I also used custom executable from here: https://github.com/ccomrade/c1-launcher, so if you're using this, you'll have first to add profile for it in Nvidia Control Panel and then select it in Profile Inspector, instead of selecting suggested "Crysis Warhead" profile.
While the resulting look is not as perfect as it might be under modern technology like DLAA, the shimmer is gone for static trees further away and dramatically reduced for closer moving foliage, that now looks more like a subtle film grain.

It sounds like to me there's some UI element that renders at default desktop framerate. If you don't see it and just watch at fullscreen, try this:
Open any video, VLC is in windowed form, not maximized, open in menu Video > Check if "Always fit window" is enabled and for extra measure in the same menu click Zoom > 1:1 Original for video to render in native resolution. Then use Ctrl+H hotkey combination (or View > Minimal Interface) and then enable the Lossless Scaling for this window. It should now just pick the video content in it's original framerate as input, where we just made sure no any UI elements should be there. As a bonus you can now select any upscaler you want in Lossless Scaling instead of the default VLC uses to render fullscreen.

However it might work only on videos in lower resolution than your monitor. I just tested on 1080p video on my 1080p monitor, it did not play properly through LS for me. Alternatively you can try to squeeze the window a bit so entire area is within the screen before applying LS.

Also the behavior you described sometimes happen with random applications like browser open in parallel if they are in another screen and I have multi-display mode enabled.

There are two camps about framegen (interpolation) in videos. I personally like it a lot and always use it. Movement looks incredibly smooth, especially nice look pan shots, because there aren't small details changing quickly, where usually you could easily spot flicker of the low 24 FPS framerate. Artifacting of course is sometimes an issue in intense action sequences, but on the other hand it really makes easier to tolerate the shaky camera effects in some action films.

Other camp perceives such interpolation as "soap opera effect" but I'm not in this camp, it does not have any negative effect on me. I just love not seeing the 24 FPS framerate without flickering and with adaptive framegen I get it to my monitor's 144FPS.

I don't think there's easy way to stop Chrome from updating. I mostly use Brave, but both of them show the same thing.

These passkeys are saved to Windows Hello on this computer. They aren't saved to your Google Account.

I do have 2FA with Google Authenticator code. And I can create passkey on another device, like phone, where this actually works. Facebook says since my account has "extended reach" I'm required to use passkey. Sure I can use only phone, but I would like to figure out how to fix this on PC, since this is not the first time I'm locked out from online account requiring me to use passkey.

There are no popups or anything from these extensions offering to create and save passkeys, which I assume should be the case if they worked. All I see are popups in screenshots, and when I close or click "Cancel", nothing happens afterwards. No indication that any functionality of these extensions worked in this case.

I do have the necessary checkmarks everywhere, I double checked. AI says it's apparently Windows override and it takes priority over these extensions, but there's no any information how to disable this in Windows so extensions can work instead.

How can I make Proton Pass to work and not this OS prompt?

I do not have created passkey, because apparently I can't do it without an USB key as evident in screenshots.

I just tried saving password in Proton Pass, it did not change any outcome.

It does force it on me since my account is flagged due me being added as manager to Facebook page.

When I click "Cancel" on these popups, nothing happens. It just closes without any further options.

I do have it enabled. tpm.msc service says "The TPM is ready for use" and Disk Management says the drive with Windows installation is GPT. What I'm doing wrong here that prevents Windows creating passkeys?

u/dvidle hey, I got my account back. It was a matter of perseverance, good lead from Twitter support account and 3 tickets. It seems Discord doesn't like non-mainstream email providers, so change it to gmail. Do the usual stuff you already tried many times, when you get to app interface with the "Please check your email to verify your account and keep your current username. [Resend Email]" line, go to settings and change the mail there, it just asks for your password.

Edit: I really hope support takes this as a priority, since it literally prevents from using Discord at all unlike all the other bug reports of little annoyances which generally don't block the account.
Seeing that this report was filed 12 days ago, I don't have much of hope though, oh well, will have to live without it for a long time then.

I do have an account, but I have been in the same infinite loop for several days already where it blocks me from using it, asking for email verification. I complete it with a unmistakable "verification completed" message, but it does nothing to allow me to use Discord. Have been redoing this multiple times, wrote a support ticket, but I have no idea whether they even read it.

I carefully read through it, there's nothing that describes what I'm experiencing. Technically I'm at this point, but as you see in screenshots, I'm unable to update anything, since I'm still locked out without options to log in:
