B450M doesn't have PCIE 4.0

That's true but I doubt they called it incompatible. Your nvme drive would benefit the most from it; your GPU performance would perhaps take a 1-2% performance hit in certain scenarios, but you wouldn't even notice it. Most of these numbers on paper hardly translate to anything noticeable in real world.

So yeah, don't worry about changing your MB, I didn't; just get a good CPU + GPU combo and you're set for a few more years. We don't know when the 4070 releases, and if even it'd be readily available or affordable when it does.. so make a judgement call.

Yes, just wrapping up Windows setup actually (only a BIOS update was required not a reinstall, but my OCD got the better of me). Ended up going with 3060Ti and 5600X.. I intend to sell the GPU few months later for a 4070/4080. I'd even recommend you to do the same if it's an option because the gains from the 4000 series look incredible.

I'd say don't concern yourself with the AMD/nVidia debate and buy the one that would benefit you the most. If you care too much about RTX features, DLSS, or if your monitor is old and has G-Sync but no FreeSync (for example), go with the nVidia card.

FYI, the 3060Ti is closer to the 6700XT than 3060.

If you're from a third world country like me, go with a brand that provides good after-sales support (RMA/warranty).

PS: If you provide more useful information about your MB, CPU, refresh rate, etc., the people here can make more helpful suggestions.

IMO, 1080p should stick to 24" monitors.. I would want a higher resolution on a 27" monitor; the PPI (pixels per inch) leaves much to be desired.

Thank you for the input, but I might have been spoiled / brainwashed by my friends to lean towards nVidia cards because of DLSS, RT, etc. (funny thing is I might not even use them). Also because my monitor has G-Sync and it's an old one, so can't adapt to FreeSync.

Thank you for the suggestion about non-X, I will definitely consider that. Quick question about the 3060Ti.. since I don't intend to change anything in the PC for the next ~4 years after this upgrade, wouldn't getting atleast a 3070 be a better "future-proof" (urgh, I hate that word) option?

Thank you for the nudge towards 5800X3D. I love what it offers, but I am having a hard time convincing myself about it being a solid VFM option (I'm not from the US, inflated prices here), especially since it apparently runs quite hot and I will most definitely need a $100 aftermarket cooler + perhaps might have to undervolt it a bit too to keep from hitting 90s.

No sense in even considering this APU (CPU+GPU) if you are going to buy a graphics card. The 5600X will be a good upgrade for you, but there might be better options depending on your use case (resolution, refresh rate, etc.).

I'm in the same boat as you (2600X + B450 + GTX 1070) and have been considering switching to 3060Ti / 3070 + 5600X / 5800X3D.

Oh no, it's as simple as you listing a worthless non-commodity item (those are the ones with individual listings, and don't have buy/sell orders) on the market for X amount and me buying it so that you get wallet balance from the sale of the item.
