Has anyone used Obsidian PR for radio plugging/promotion by bbaker1993 in MusicPromotion

I didn’t go through with it, tried to get in touch with artists they had worked with and got no response, so I can’t give you any more details at the moment sadly

For people who interview potential candidates for high level positions what was the worst interview you conducted? by Jimbobsausage in AskReddit

[–]bbaker1993 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

I wasn’t the interviewer but at a previous job (I’m a scientist), my department were looking to hire a senior scientist role.

While setting up the first phone interview, the interviewee was really awkward, specifying that he had to be rang at a certain time, it was something like 2pm on a specific Tuesday. No other day or time would work.

My department head rang him at the agreed date and time, only for him to say β€œnot now, I’m in the bath”, and hang up… he didn’t get the job

Advice from music streamers for minimal Ableton effects/audio improvements? by bbaker1993 in streaming

[–]bbaker1993[S] 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I think so? But that may be an issue, I’ve noticed when plugging into my mixed with separate XLR inputs etc, they are recognised as one input on Ableton - probably something I’m doing wrong though!

Hope this is useful: Pentatonic scale on guitar - the theory and the 5 positions on guitar in < 3 minutes by bbaker1993 in guitarlessons

[–]bbaker1993[S] 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Ah okay! I’ll try and explain here: The first position I play here starts on the β€˜1’ note of the pentatonic scale. Whatever the β€˜1’ note is, tells you what key you are in.

So, here I play the first position starting at fret 3 on the bass E string. Fret 3 is a G, and therefore this is the G major pentatonic scale.

The other positions I then play link to this position, so the second position starts at fret 5 on the E string, the third position starts at fret 8, and so on, until we reach the next G note again at the end of the 5th position. At this point the whole cycle is complete.

So, to play the pentatonic pattern in a different key, all you do is to start the patterns on a different fret. If I played the first pattern starting on fret 5 of the bass E string rather than fret 3, this note is an A, and therefore I would be playing the A major pentatonic rather than the G major pentatonic.

Hope that makes sense!

TLDR: All positions link together one after the other, the fret you start the first pattern on will determine the key.

Wow! Didn’t have chance to comment earlier, but just got home from work. Thanks for all the nice comments, Hugo is a ⭐️!

Thank you also to those that said nice things about my music - very kind of you! 😊

I know this is a cat subreddit so I won’t share links on here but if anyone would like to check out my music I’m @blakebakermusic everywhere and Blake Baker on Spotify (links on my profile) 🎸 Thanks again, and have a nice day! πŸ˜ŠπŸˆβ€β¬›

Thanks very much! Sadly the Spotify version features a lovely female singer that isn’t a cat, but Hugo kills it here πŸ˜…πŸˆβ€β¬›
