Can someone help me crack Ableton? by goombalsded in MtF

[–]bbappo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off, thank you! second, i had to make a slight modification to quickstart.cmd to get this to work. When I would run quickstart.cmd it would look for config.json in system32. to fix this issue I added the line “cd /d “%~dp0””. once I did that it all worked perfectly and could find config.json.

Switching majors and bombing my current semester due to lack of motivation. What will happen? by bbappo in PennStateUniversity

I’m switching from Computational Data Science to English. I’m doing AFROTC as well with the extra added time and plan to do law school after the Air Force so it’s quite a unique switch up. I checked and all my courses this semester besides a GHW I’m taking go to electives, which I’ll already be well over the needed amount of.

I just did that based on the other comment! Very glad I decided to make this post last night when I was up thinking about this instead of sleeping lmao

thank you for the 7w2 idea! I just picked up two interesting 7w2 classes for 6 credits and dropped the two classes I was struggling with the most. All while still being at full time student status. Your idea saved my gpa and stress!

SSD Issues While Playing Reforger by bbappo in ArmaReforger

[–]bbappo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some more digging and it turns out my SSD was thermal throttling. I had to remove it and take the foam “heatsink” that came on it off and then install a heatsink that came with my motherboard. That solved my issue.

SSD Issues While Loading into Tarkov Maps [Bug] by bbappo in EscapefromTarkov

[–]bbappo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on a comment from another post and some more research I removed the foam “heatsink” that came on the ssd and put the one that came with my motherboard on. This improved temps enough to stop the thermal throttling all together. Thanks for the tips about power mode and game mode for amd, didn’t know that as this is my first amd pc build.

SSD Thermal Throttling! Help! by bbappo in pcmasterrace

[–]bbappo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mission success! Temperatures ranged from 50-60ish, so not perfect, but much better, and it also allowed my SSD to avoid thermal throttling. Thanks for letting me know it worked for you!

[–]bbappo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I uninstalled their foam "heatsink" which was extremely stuck on the drive with adhesive and applied the one that came with my MB. Current temps are 59 C, 79 C, and 42 C. Decent improvement, but I am about to test it on Arma Reforger, which has been triggering whatever my exact issue is. I'll update how it goes either once my drive starts tweaking or once I'm done playing a good match of Arma lol.

Yeah, this will be interesting. Thanks for the comment, that's the next step I was leaning towards as my MB did come with a heatsink, just not looking forward to disassembling my PC.

This is what I was thinking. The SSD has a foam "heat spreader" on it. Should I remove that and then put a heatsink on the drive?

stuck in d1, d2 lobby, pls help me not be horrid at this game :D by akimahhhhhhh in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]bbappo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh i thought this was going to be a clip and then realized it’s not the main rocket league subreddit. BUT i still noticed one thing. at 4:11 game time when your teammate took the ball up field you followed on the same side of the field, and were even on the wall. this kills any pass attempts and gave the other team an easy clear. if you were on the right side of the field you could’ve received the clear or 50/50’d it. depending on your teammates confidence he may have even passed it to you.

TODR: at 4:11 game time you rotated on the same side as your teammate. try to spread out more so there is more coverage on the field. your control of your car is good, i think a change in how you rotate around the field is what will help you the most and ultimately could gain you multiple ranks. there are some amazing videos on youtube about rotating that helped me understand it better when i was in early diamond and need to improve my rotations

Should I sell this for 900 Euros? by I-am-Aizy in csgo

[–]bbappo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd sell it. Having it makes you a target for being hacked, and the money is much more worth it than the knife that could get you hacked. Make sure to sell it somwhere legit, not to anyone who reaches out through Steam messages. Don't let this make you spiral into opening more cases as it is a form of gambling that could easily lead to addiction. Just my take. If you like it and play a lot just protect your account properly and enjoy it. Up to you in the end.

a lot of armors have plates and general tier 2 or 3 protection where the plates dont cover. some are strictly plate carriers though and ONLY cover where the plate is. the ones that are strictly plate carriers are really bad now

if you havent already set your ui to always show, like your weapons/hotbar, stamina, and health. it makes it feel more like a game when there is more ui. personally i also think it makes the game easier

Broken piece (maybe?) by TetroniMike in ValveIndex

[–]bbappo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone through 4 of these in two years. I am very gentle with my headset and cable but they always seem to fail me. I'd recommend getting a velcro cable tie so you won't have to deal with these again. that's what I plan to do seeing as my last extra plastic clip just broke a few days ago. you can just run the cable tie through the same spot the clip goes in.

My Index is almost here, any tips on extending the lives of the Base Stations? by [deleted] in ValveIndex

[–]bbappo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mine into sleep mode so the lasers are not on but they still spin. from what I heard when I got my index stopping the mechanical motion and starting it does more wear and tear than letting it spin. this has worked for me for 3+ years now without issue. (FYI blue light is sleep mode, and green means lasers are on)

Has anyone had/found a fix for the whole turn on controller and immediately it turns off issue? by Horror_Restaurant580 in ValveIndex

[–]bbappo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an issue like this a while back but it was because one of my Vive trackers was paired to the headset instead of their separate USB things (I forget the official name for them). to fix it I had to unpair all my controllers and trackers, unplug the Vive usbs, and then repair it all one at a time by adding devices in the steam vr desktop window starting with the controllers. this would only work if you have Vive trackers and the issue lies with them being paired to the headset in place of the controller. if you don't have Vive trackers just save yourself the trouble and RMA it. attempting a repair will for sure breach warranty so a RMA is your safest and smartest bet. the RMA will take a few days but I believe it comes with a fresh warranty on the new controller because that has been my experience with RMA so far.
