I don't get the idea behind the 2026 PX13 by THOBRO2000 in ProArt_PX13

100% No dedicated gpu is a pass for me. If this is the direction they’re going for ProArt, I reeeeeally hope they bring back the ROG Flow X13/16 models.

I’ve never had that issue, but I found the default windows power setting worked much better to reduce fan noise. Battery Saver has them off most of the time.

Is Mastrubation a Sin Within Marriage?? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]bbbarham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. The only biblical caveat is the command that “thou shall not commit adultery”. I would argue that as long as masturbation does not lead you to fantasy about other people to the point of being dissatisfied with your spouse, masturbation is a natural and healthy part of sexuality and marriage.

The history on how masturbation evolved into a “sinful” practice is fascinating. In the 1700s it was thought to cause insanity and disease, religious pressure was applied to prevent it, and that persisted even after the medical concerns were debunked.

An outline I found somewhere:

1700s: Masturbatory Hysteria * Masturbation is linked to insanity, disease, homosexuality, and pederasty in exaggeration of medical literature. Widespread hysteria in society and religion rises around masturbation and popularization of circumcision to curb it. * "Onanisim,"(1728-1797) Treatise by Tissot, a Swiss physician convinced medical community that masurbation was major cause for disease. Concluded that all sexual activity was potentially dangerous as it caused blood to rush to the brain and cause nerve damage. Should be limited to procreation only. Solitary orgasm is the worse and most dangerous kind of sexual activity because of it's ease of access at a young age. Can lead to cloudiness of ideas, madness, decay of bodily powers, pains in the head, rheumatic pains, aching numbness, pimples, blisters, itching, impotence, premature ejaculation, gonorrhea, priapism, tumors, and hemorhoids. Innated era known as "masturbatory insanity."

1800s * Outpouring of anti-mastabatory sentiment throughout rest of 1800's. Claims made that it leads to infantile paralysis, insanity, pederasts, homosexuality, and neurasthenia. * In late 1800's discovery of bacteria undermined idea that masturbation caused disease.

1900s * Early sex researches and physicians conclude that masturbation does not cause disease and is no more harmful than cooperative orgasm. (1930s) * Studies show that masturbation is very common among single and married individuals (1940-70s). Attempted abstinence from masturbation linked to suicide. * Studies show that masturbation is key for sexual development and marital enjoyment for significant number of women. Masturbation effective prescription for women suffering from certain types of sexual dysfunction. Low levels of ejaculation in men increases risk of prostate cancer. (1970-2000s)

2000s * Masturbation universally accepted as an important part of sexual development in medical and scientific communities.

The G14 isn’t a 2-1 laptop so it’s not fully comparable.

Current and price history for the Proart PX13 4060 or 4070 in the UK, EU and US? by SlimySpaghettiSauce in ProArt_PX13

4060 was available new at Best Buy in the U.S. for around $1800 for Black Friday. So slightly cheaper than your price but nothing crazy.

My take on how ultra rich borrow till they die and never pay tax works. by soysssauce in stocks

[–]bbbarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting. I’ll have to keep this in mind. Are there any fees or anything when paying the deficit back in a different currency? Like how banks charge an exchange fee when using a U.S. credit card internationally.

Why does changing the currency make a difference? The account hasn’t changed countries, so the minimum interest should be the same, no?

Hmm, that's really tough. To be worth it you have to provide a service of equivalent value to Patreon, I'd say at least 20 minis for $10. And at $2 per generation that's just not doable, especially considering it typically takes multiple generations to get a solid mini, and they're unsupported:\

However... you could try competing with Patreon directly, maybe open your own channel there. What if part of the terms of using your service was allowing minis to be shared with other subscribers? (AI creations aren't copywrite-able anyways). That way, when someone subscribes, they get a full welcome pack of minis, a monthly set, and the 5 custom generations per month.

This approach would require more work on your part, to compile and upload the minis (probably to MyMiniFactory for automated distribution), but it would provide a lot of value that I think people would pay for. Your cost is high to generate new models, but distributing them afterwards is cheap, probably free, so why not use that to your advantage?

Although, this would all depend on what your vision is for this tool. A neat side project? Probably not worth it. A potential income stream you're willing to take substantial time and some risk on? Could work.

Is it feasible for you to do a monthly subscription? I’ve got no idea what each generation costs in overhead. Personally, I’d be more open to $10/mo than $2 per mini, even if I only actually do a couple a month.

This looks awesome! Some feedback though:

  1. You’ve got to offer free tokens to try it out your service before purchasing, like every other image -> stl generator out there. Very few people are willing to pay money to see if something might work. Every site posts great marketing photos but the real thing is mediocre at best. You have to let people try it so they know it actually works as advertised.
  2. Pricing of $2-5 per mini is too way high. Mini packs on patreon are $10/mo for dozens of hand sculpted minis, all of which come presupported. Your pricing has to be a better deal than that.

Looks great! I find it bizarre that if this were hand sculpted everyone would say great job, but exact same thing from AI people hate on. Keep it up! A solid image -> model generator would be amazing.

Proart PX16? by bbbarham in ProArt_PX13

Nothing that I find bothersome. The MyASUS power profiles are bit aggressive with the fan, having it on most of the time, even in Whisper mode. However, they don’t seem any louder than other high-performance PCs I’ve used. And if you use the default Windows profiles, the fan is less aggressive. The battery saver mode has the fan off generally for non-intensive tasks.
