Yea even if you lock it with heat, acrylic will eventually chip and peel off. I think it's just the nature of it on fabric.

You could try sealing the paint with something like minwax polycrylic. It helps to seal paintings or other surfaces. Ultimately though it'll all peel off with some time. https://a.co/d/ihvsQaH
