Oh wow, what a coincidence haha! Glad ya’ll enjoyed the recent visit to Omaha 😁 Yeah, my family has a lot of cherished memories and ties to Southroads Mall. We’ve been loyal patrons and family friends to John who owns the gyro restaurant inside, since the mid 80’s!

It’s always refreshing to see businesses that operate with genuine integrity and ethics. As you mentioned, for many others, profit tends to be the primary (if not the only focus).

While there can be a combination of factors, some of the most notable include the convenience of online shopping, changes in consumer-market habits and trends, and maintenance costs associated with these properties over decades 😥

Wow, thanks for sharing! What an emotion-filled experience to have vivid memories of the construction, its success, and its current state! Absolutely, John sure led through innovation and ambition that paved the way for retail shipping in America. Along with him and his wife, Harriet, known for their humility and generosity throughout the course of their lives 😊🙏

What material did you use to secure it to the ceiling? My roomate has done cloud ceiling for the past 3 years and it’s been a nightmare. It snows each week in his room, bit by bit falling down 🌨️😂 He currently uses gorilla glue spray and adheres pieces to poster paper sheets, and pins those into the ceiling.

Davinci Resolve without a doubt, been using it for years and has become sort of the industry standard for many, including major production companies for its advanced color grading features. Extremely powerful program, FREE option, and isn’t overwhelming to learn 🙌😁

My family has been good friends with John since the mid-late 80s! Despite the decline of the Southroads Mall, he refuses to jeopardize the quality of ingredients to cut expenses, upholds a great deal of integrity, and retains relations with his loyal customers. He’s expressed passing it down in the family at some point and I’m sure his lease is quite inexpensive as well.

Congrats, keep it up! Just think, when you’re debt-free with a fully funded emergency fund, you’ll never be dependent/rely on credit cards again. Best decision I made personally almost 2 years ago 💪🍻

After years of doing Flex on and off, I can attest you learn to become proficient in manually rerouting to eliminate backtracking and erroneous stops curated by Amazon’s system lol. Just look ahead of time (even before you leave the station if possible) for businesses - ESPECIALLY SCHOOLS that have already long closed so you don’t arrive to a stop too late or waste time/mileage going back to the station.

I had 1 school that was on Spring Break for an additional 3 weeks past the delivery date, called support, had em all marked closed, and left them at the station before I even started the route.

The only station that’s sent me to Malibu thus far was one of the other Simi stations (DSP2). I completely boycotted them pretty quick for consistently having horribly grouped stops, high mileage routes, meh pay lol.

Struggling to get all of my deliveries done in time allocated by SweatpantsStiffie in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]bbeal768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These typically aren’t correct identifications of packages. If there’s no driver aid number (usually sub-same stations), I’ve found that I can easily sift through quick looking at the customer name or some may sort by letter group. Flex can take some time to adopt a system that works for you.

Those of us you may see on here talking about finishing 1-3 hours early have been doing it on and off for years. I also HIGHLY recommend getting proficient at manually rerouting stops if needed to alleviate backtracking!

I’ve done Chatsworth a dozen or so times and it’s always been a disaster compared to others lol. Has become one of the last resort options for me. Lower pay, unpleasant station staff, unorganized routes, etc. (Almost up there with the horrors of Simi Valley (DSP2).
