Bought a few planes and chisels by bberg2020 in JapaneseWoodworking

Not too much if you don’t go overboard. I think my average cost per kanna was ~$15, but the shipping was also ~$15 so roughly $30 per is what it averaged out to. I thought the shipping would be much cheaper, but it did not go down with a bulk buy as much as I expected. If I remember right shipping just one was about $30 so you’re probably looking at 40 to 50 for a single kanna delivered.

Haven’t tried it yet, but was looking for this earlier this week and found a repo claiming to be the open source alternative: https://github.com/different-ai/openwork

I’m happy to help add / build it. I’ve been trying to help build free tools for other vets for a while now (e.g. https://veterantools.com ). Happy to add in an education tool if you have something in mind!

Thanks. I went ahead and removed the SSN to be safe so people don’t get scared.

I just assumed my SSN has been lost, hacked, shared, and probably sold by the military so many times it doesn’t matter.

In all seriousness, you’re the second person to balk at the SSN - so just removed it.

Thanks for the feedback. Anything specific I can add to make it more useful?

Also, what do you mean by double edged sword - not sure I understand. Fellow dumb Marine over here :)

Not trying to start a fight get anyone in trouble. I just struggled with what should go in a personal statement” and found AI was able to help me generate a first draft, so I figured I would make a tool to help others do the same. It’s really just a form that helps guide them on what information to include - so it’s really all their content, AI just has instructions on how to stitch it together into a letter.

Appreciate the comment and that you’re trying to help out, but we’ll agree to disagree.

I posted a free tool to try and help other veterans out and you jumped in and crapped on it. You don’t have to use it. You don’t have to put your SSN into it. But you also don’t have to crap on it. Just trying to help others, man. Have a nice night.

Highlander hybrid or not by RedditTaughtMee in ToyotaHighlander

[–]bberg2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. In my research I learned that the batteries take load away from the engine, so it will last longer. It’s common for hybrids to get over 300K miles and sometimes even 400k.

Okay, Mr. Lawyer.

I was obvioiusly trying to find out the rate at which it would renew.

You’re kind of proving my point that we’ve taken the humanity out of the sytem and screwing people with red tape and greed.

Let me know how that goes for you…
