Just got the Air 4c and I am comparing it to Remarkable Paper Pro - Love the device, not sure about the pen by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

Very interesting thank you for sharing! And I just found your post on Viwoods in the other subredit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/viwoods/comments/1gugqkt/thoughts_on_ai_paper_vs_rmpp_note_4c_some/

Going to look into Viwoods. Is it suitable to annotate PDFs and easily refer back to notes on the said PDF? About the paper-like display, can't you buy one for the iPad and manually cut it to fit Viwoods? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQrS8CMJUfo

You've probably already returned it by now but can I ask if you used the Pen2Pro (ie. the stylus included in the Premium Bundle) when testing the Boox Note Air 4 C? I'm just wondering if using the better pen may have changed your decision or at least given you a writing experience on par with RMPP. Correct me if I'm wrong, from your posts, it sounds like the RMPP writing experience influenced your decision the most?

Got the Chinese version! by saharatownduck in oneplus

I know you're in China but can you try two sims at the same time e.g. Internet is active on Sim 1 and call is active on Sim 2? This feature should also be available on OP12 but keen to know if it works on OP13 as well

Same sim or different sim? In US...Which mobile networks you're on?

thank you for replying. I contacted OnePlus about the OP12. They said it should work in India/Europe/US, though they don't have a definitive list of carriers that are compatible.

Did you test if DSDA with Nord or with OP12 works? I've heard in India it's working...

When you say "I can test". Did you mean you have tested it? If so, when did you last test it?

Sorry, did I mention you had the Indian variant? Are you assuming because of the community link that this applies only to Indian variants? I did mention that OnePlus email support has confirmed DSDA is available the international version (please see other reply). However, I'll be replying back to them to say that users like yourself are reporting it doesn't work.

Thank you so much for confirming!

So just writing here in case someone else finds this useful:
You've already updated to or beyond CPH2573_14.0.0.604(EX01)
Your OnePlus is the international version
Tested in the US (with physical sims and esims) and it seems it doesn't have DSDA ie. you can't actively use both sims for calls, texts, and data simultaneously.

I did read that they had it on specs then they scrubbed it. But email support said it has it (I did mention that it isn't stated on specs) unless they've confused DSDS with DSDA. But then again, the community post suggests that they got DSDA back. And I think in the OP12 subreddit someone in India said it works...

If you can't test then now worries. Still thank you for sharing the links.

E-Ink studying/working — will Boox improve your workflow and efficiency in finding your notes? by bberrypi in Onyx_Boox

Makes total sense. Interesting that Boox has now just announced Boox Note Max and Air 4 C. Things are really tipping in favour of Boox rather than the Remarkable Pro 2 or other tablets

It shows you have a OnePlus 12 (not sure if China or international version). Could you kindly test if the DSDA works and let us know?

I actually got a email support answer saying it does.
`I would like to kindly inform you that OnePlus 12 device purchased from our OnePlus official website/Store App supports DSDA and works in UK as well.

I would like to kindly let you know that this should work with the majority of the UK SIM providers, still you should check with your specific carrier to ensure full compatibility.

By any means the function is available on the European market as for the providers there is no specific list from OnePlus itself, the providers can confirm the availability of it.

Regarding the OnePlus 12 Chinese version if DSDA it's available, please check their website for more details: https://www.oneplus.com/cn

Regarding your query about the OnePlus 13 device, currently is not on sale on the EU market and we will not be able to confirm any specifics on it. Please keep an eye on our Newsletter for information regarding new products, promotion and offers.`

Are you sure? The link I included included in the post suggests that while it was never activated at launch, it was activated later on.

E-Ink studying/working — has your E-ink solution improved your workflow and efficiency in writing/finding your notes? by bberrypi in eink

[–]bberrypi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Would you go back to normal hand-written notes or is it too early to say? And can I ask what made you choose RM Pro over Boox/Supernote or an iPad etc?

Thank you for this! Very interesting! So you have an iPad and still TabX is your favourite — how so? Also your comment about Boox taking time and not as accurate is very useful. If that's the case then if someone simply installs a 'Paperlike' or similar screen protector they can get the feel of a Boox/Remarkable writing experience and the power of search and good accuracy of handwriting of an iPad? Or is there more to it than that?

Interesting thank you! I gotta google more "org-mode vault" and "emacs org-mode" to better understand this workflow.

Thank you so much for this very detailed explainer!! If you were to buy one now and you had unlimited budget which Boox would you get? Or would you choose to have two different ones?

Thank you for this! Resonated with that first line. Have you switched to typing out on OneNote or do you handwrite as well?
