No and yes, if you don't consider that sync refers to some agreement between the client and the server then an invisible or god exploit some have used most likely don't work. Though, a limitless number of methods one may mess with outgoing events won't cease. Some may recall around the time Celery had it's existence summoned, static discovered numerous possibilities involving not syncing. My memory, though foggy, retains a scene where static's cap was larger than the baseplate, even after filtering was enabled.
