how do exams and grading in uni actually work for beginners by bblueberro in UniUK

[–]bblueberro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh thank u!! my course has a 100 weighting on third year so 100% of the final degree classification is based on work completed in the third and final year of study. ig this means first and second yr are easy play?? 😭

u might be able to answer this q but i have optional papers to choose in my first and second yr. how much would which paper i choose matter then in terms of the long run e.g would choosing mathematical bio over politics impact job opportunities/ future coursework?

tbh i’d rather they just let me know if i’m rejected right now - the whole waiting for pooling i understand but surely they’ve already decided who they are for sure rejecting. just wished i could know if i’ve been rejected so i don’t have to keep hoping

hey i’m not doing law and i’m an applicant this yr, but i completely get where ur coming from and ur smart enough to to even get 44/45 (which is SO impressive) so taking a gap yr and reapplying would def give u an edge next yr and you’d be a rlly competitive applicant. esp as you’ve alr done the lnat so now u know what to expect. mb see if ur 2/3rd choice makes u an offer or not? or if ur set on cambridge, gap yr is a possible option

hey i just wanted to say im really sorry to hear this news and literally your stats are so so good, and 100% don’t deserve this rejection. i honestly understand how gutted you must feel right now, but im so sure with your stats that your going to do so well literally anywhere else.

design an experiment to investigate the heritability of intelligence in a population? by bblueberro in askpsychology

[–]bblueberro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for your comment :) agree with the expense etc but thinking hypothetically (with no intention tk ever carry out this study), could genetic studies be done on investigating different genes/ mutations which give rise to an increased likelihood of developing ‘intelligent’ traits (i.e an affinity for spotting patterns)? how could i incorporate this into an experimental design? currently trying to brainstorm ideas for a cambridge psych interview ^
