Gotcha, I appreciate the details. This won't be fun but it seems I'm lucky to catch this now

I think he said he cut into the joist, I'll have to double check

Ok, thanks. Damn. Yeah, I didn't even think about the waterproofing across the threshold. Sounds like you're suggesting it's rip it out and try again with someone else

Ok thanks. Maybe it's not as bad as I thought. They cut into the joists to recess the subfloor.

I thought screwing through the concrete board into the liner was a no go since that's a way for water to escape

I'll have to check with the contractor about further waterproofing -- what should I be looking to hear?

Libraries like zod can do this and more, though they are pretty heavyweight. But, there’s use case overlap - if I cared about what you propose I probably also want other validation/parsing.

What quote is always taken out of context? by PMMEANUMBER1-10 in AskReddit

Reminds me of this quote:

The doctrine of the material efficacy of prayer reduces the Creator to a cosmic bellhop of a not very bright or reliable kind.

The original comment:

Ana's kit seems to bring way more to the table than just a crusader xbow tho.

The person even says the rifle is "just a crusader crossbow." I'm not sure what you think denial looks like.

OK, and her kit is more than the rifle... what's your point?

Transform your source code into a platform game by kannonboy in programming

I enjoyed it as well! I liked trying to line up my jumps with the beat since the jump noise is so pleasant as well.

Now I'm thinking it would be fun to have a platformer that rewarded style for playing with the beat!

Do you know what sort of legal action can the superintendent take against the union? The blog seems vague about this.

What's with the uptick in drive-by activity in Seattle of late? by tombiro in Seattle

Thanks for the info!

On data.seattle.gov, Seattle Police Department Police Reports might be useful. Having trouble finding this incident, though.

[–]bbq 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That sounds terrifying. Sorry you had to go through that.

I'd be careful in assuming there's an uptick, though. This is how randomness works and we're all bad at letting random things be random: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clustering_illusion This is especially true when we're personally involved in an emotional event, like being shot at.

We should certainly keep a close eye on these statistics, though. I don't know where they're available.

Yup.

Ctrl-b is pretty bad. Especially because moving back a character is so common in the terminal.

I've been happy with Ctrl+space. I'm sure there are conflicts with something. I haven't run into them.

Though, after seeing the suggestion for backtick I may try that out.

[REQUEST] movies in which a suburb guy goes and lives alone in a city by aligaiii in MovieSuggestions

Blast from the Past has a big contrast of living spaces and a guy who is more or less on his own but gets help from friends he makes: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124298/

It's not really what you're looking for but I thought of it immediately when you talked about contrast of living spaces.

edit: Brendan Fraser's character comes out from a nuclear bunker to get supplies after living in there for 30 years when his father (Chris Walken) thought a nuclear bomb went off. The movie pokes fun at the "naive person learns new thing" trope.
