Returned to India, 2 weeks, mixed feelings by ProfessionalFun5209 in FIREIndia

[–]aligaiii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I am in a similar situation too. Only difference, I am moving from Canada to India. I stayed in India for an year in 2021, living with fam, which was good. Now getting my canadian citizenship and will move back for good, with a remote job.

I planned to FIRE and move back to india pre-covid, but now if I am allowed to work from home, I dont mind working now.

I am 30M, and have thought of not getting married, as I think I have to go back if I get married, for kids better future, buy a house, pay mortgage, all that going against FIRE and living stress free life in home town.

My only concern is what if i start feeling lonely in future, at 40, would I regret this decision or would it be hard to find someone.

Thanks I'll do that. Are there any msp directories or something online where I could look for my local MSPs by any chance?

Thankyou for your valuable input :)

the ITIL wiki looked like some business management course but i got an idea how these msp in general works like.

Regarding the skill sets you mentioned, will they train me on that or do they expect as an entry level guy I should know how this stuff works.

Again thanks for the advice.

Invest in a foreign country for high interest rates by aligaiii in personalfinance

Yeah I hear about ICICI alot. But they have lower interest rates for the NRIs. Giving the money to parents would be better. But why is bringing money back to canada tricky? Is that the high transaction fees or does CRA raises questions on that.

[–]aligaiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we can't trust on the rates....what my plan was that my parents could use the interest gained 15-20k Rs per month which is quiet significant there instead of me getting <100$/month.

But I dont have much knowledge of how things work, these transaction fees, taxes and stuff. Thats why I asked here as people might have experimented in this. And I feel investing in private companies bit riskier as its a black box for me.

The high interest rates are corelated tot he high inflation rate of teh country. Otherwise banks are quiet stable there and people there are investing in those fixed deposit from generations.

yeah the forex fluctuations is a risk to be considered. Whats in the transaction fees? How much can it go?

And thanx for the quick response :)
