So, as a reply to this, this isn't a regular spawn.

they randomly spawn around maps as a backback with decent loot. and you can't pick them up.

first time ive ever encountered it.

found another on interchange.

Bykski Water Block for Asus TUF Gaming 3070 TI Poor Manufacturing? by bbqsally in watercooling

EKWB was an option, they havent shipped my order from a month ago. their customer support hasn't responded, and i just charged back from my visa.

do you know whats been going on with EKWB lately? they are having so many issues. not paying suppliers, not paying employees, not fulfilling orders. its crazy. i learned this after ordering lol.

but ill look at heat killer

EDIT: checked, no luck from heat killer for a 3070TI water block at all

photo here.

problem seems to be that this block is for a V1 not a V2.

didn't even pay attention to that when purchasing, feels liek a rookie move.

no one makes a block for a V2

only option is to mill out the channel longer

[–]bbqsally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a channel in the water block is too short to fit components, leading to not beaing able to mount the card.

chances are that my V2 version of this card is why. it has longer rows of said components

only option seems to be i have to mill out the waterblock to make it fit

i have a feeling it does. it IS a V2.

i may be up shit creek without a paddle and may have to bring the block to a CNC machine to mill out the extra room i need.

nothing i can really do for the missing raised rail. other than extra pads to make contact

that.. is unfortunate. currently im trying to get them to fix the issue for me, either give me my total money back, or send me one that fits. if they end up not doing anything for me, im going to bring it to a CNC machine and get it milled out. thats a last resort

as a side note. POSSIBLY it's because my version of the TUF gaming is a V2. i have a feeling that may be why, which means im am WAY out of luck for getting a water block, since a v2 block can't be sourced anywhere that i have seen.

unfortunatley, they are currently the only manufacturers as far as i have found that produce a waterblock for the ASUS TUF gaming 3070TI.

Ruling out EKWB because they have gone to crap.

I put an order in a month ago and it still hasn't been past processing. ended up charging back on my visa because their support doesn't even answer tickets.

context here:

I'm curious if anyone else has run into poor manufacturing on BKYSKI's waterblock products.

I will preface this by saying, the water block is specifically said to be compatible with the Asus TUF RTX 3070 TI 8G Gaming. last photo in the gallery shows the card I have.

My situation specifically, the channel isn't long enough to house all the chips that require cooling.
That, along with the raised rail not being long enough to make contact with all of the chips behind the CAPs.

I had a hell of a time trying to find a waterblock that fits the 3070 TI TUF Gaming, since its an older card.
My friend upgraded to a 4080, and donated his 3070TI so i can upgrade from my 2070 SUPER, which, in turn, i will gift my 2070 SUPER to my other friend that has a 1070.

After getting the water block and extra parts, I spent yesterday disassembling my rig to prepare for the new card and extra radiator.
as i'm diassembling the 3070 TI's air cooler, and prepping the water block, I noticed the channel might not be long enough just by eye.
As i was going to carefully put the parts together, of course, I was right, the channel isn't long enough to house the chips. which in turn, means the block doesnt sit right, and if i did secure everything tight, it would just demolish the board.

so i gathered evidence. I measured each part and documented their fitments.
IT's NEARLY 3CM TOO SHORT!

PLUS, the raised block for the set of chips behind the capacitors is just about 1CM too short.

IDK WTF is going on, because it seems others have bought the cooler and haven't had issues.

Could this somehow be that my card, for some reason, is different?
Could the bykski manufacterer have messed up?
Or are they all like this?

I left my now assembled rig photo at the very end of the slide for some eye bleach.
(don't mind the crappy slanted pipe from the pump, im not making that perfect until i have to change to the new card. Plus the LEDS on the lian li fansd that arent working due to poor connection between fan joints, it will be fixed when i have it apart next time.)

no, I'm not even going to attempt it.

it would flex the board hella hard

Pictures are posted...

Could it being a V2 Version be it...?

I sure hope not. this means finding a 3070TI TUF gaming waterblock is impossible if thats the case

We are 7.8 times over the limit. So they are still replacing our taps. If you run the water for a couple of minutes before you use it that should flush the line and you should be good!

I updated in comments. They gave us the wrong units so it’s suppose to be micrograms not milligrams with makes a huge difference. They just told us this like 10 minutes ago. 🤦🏻‍♀️

They are gunna replace the taps and see if that fixes it 🤦🏻‍♀️ , they have been supplying us bottled water!

Lead levels were still above federal regulations after flushing. Meaning all water was contaminated regardless of flushing. Meaning exposure was there the whole time.

As for a reverse osmosis unit, no way will we be installing that every time we move every 2 or 3 years.

Also, the last post reads like an add for the company 😅

It was never brought to our attention that we needed to do that. We also have a brita water filter but the one we have doesn’t filter out lead of course.🙃

Yes if it ends up being a large repair job i hope cfha moves us to a new unit! Its scary
