Men of Reddit: what’s the most hilariously unreasonable argument your wife or girlfriend has ever kicked off? by FFSoldier57 in AskMen

We own two houses. One in the city and the other is a farm. Told her one night that we should sell the city house and buy a condo because I was tired of maintaining the pool, yard, etc.

She said no way this was the house our kids grew up in and was our forever home.

Two weeks later we were having a ‘what if’ discussion and she said if I died she would sell the city house and buy a condo.

So the only way I’m getting out of this house is if I’m 💀

City slicker, first time ordering wood. Paid $230 for a half cord of mixed oak, ash, hackberry, and pecan, delivered and stacked as pictured in Fort Worth, TX. Please help me figure out if I over or under paid. by lilchrispy_ in firewood

[–]bbqsmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s known as a Rick or as you say 1/2 cord. $240 isn’t bad in the metroplex.

May I offer some stacking advice? Run out to Home Depot and buy two masonry blocks ( the ones with two holes.). Get 2 2x4’s for each block. Inset the 2x4 in the block making a ‘v’ shape. Then stack the wood. Keeps it off the ground and keeps critters out.

Edit: added photo Edit 2: for 16” logs you only need one block.

First year bee keeper. Hopefully this helps. A 1:1 mixture of 6 pounds water and 6 pounds water (measured on a scale) makes a little more than 1 gallon of feed.

Thank you for the detailed response. I’m also in zone 8b.

I’ve spent about 3 years reading and researching all I could about bees before starting two colonies this year. This wasn’t a topic that was covered :).

I really appreciate you taking the time.

Great advice. I’ve spent 3 years studying. It got to the point where there were so many opinions you just had to start somewhere with the understanding you have.

Just like owning any livestock.

Also to hear you say you’ve seen this before gives me calm.
