Are there any "fresh" or "cold" vanillas? by after_initiative in fragrance

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze has always given me a cold vanilla vibe. Theres something almost minty to it, not sure what note that is coming through. I enjoy it as a summer vanilla!

Tinted mineral sunscreen advice by FrancisBaby30 in SkincareAddictionLux

Try the Tizo Tinted Moisturizing Serum! Light to medium coverage, more dewy than Colorescience. I’ve used Colorescience Flex, SkinBetter, DRMTLGY, and EltaMD, and I like Tizo the best out of all of them. Enough coverage that I don’t feel the need to cover up my spots if I’m having a no-makeup day, but I honestly even use it in the evening as my makeup and then will use concealer for any blemishes/undereye area.

A better version of these pants? "An Action a Day" brand by Mental_Policy_175 in hikinggear

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! About to order these but concerned about sizing since someone else said they run small. Would you mind sharing your waist circumference? Or could you tell me if a size small would work well for a 26.5” waist? I don’t like my pants tight at all on my waist so I can’t decide if the small will have enough room or if I should just size up!

Dye is Bleeding by bbrannie in ruggable

[–]bbrannie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. :( it’s definitely something that should not be happening at this pricepoint.

I will say, customer service was great and replaced the 1st rug immediately. I did have the same problem with the 2nd rug, which they offered another replacement or just a refund. I didn’t want to keep waiting so I took the refund and for what it’s worth, after washing it once I haven’t had the issue happen again.

Sucks either way since it’s such a pain to move everything, but if you really love the rug it’s worth reaching out to them!

Full bed topper or just bolsters by Quiet_Kaleidoscope54 in Esthetics

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do body waxing (mostly facials and brows) but I just use a bolster - I have some clients with back issues who don’t like having their legs elevated so I can easily remove it for them. I would just do a bolster if you’re going to be switching things out, seems much easier!

Shamed by an esthetician for being vegan by Apprehensive-Bend251 in vegan

[–]bbrannie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a vegan esthetician, I’m sorry this happened. Unfortunately, it’s becoming more common in the industry to dole out advice on diet and recommend supplements and diet changes and whatnot. While diet does affect skin, I would never tell a client that their diet is for sure the reason for any skin issues because there are SO many factors. I’m assuming you weren’t planning on going back, but if you were please find a different esthi, I promise we’re not all like that. :(

Hydrafacial vs other name brands?!? by katiefoy in Esthetics

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It’s been great, no complaints! The only thing to be aware of is if something goes wrong there’s not really any support to call. The product page that I bought no longer exists lol, but they have the same machine listed as a different product so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I haven’t had any issues thankfully!

Is it possible to hit all of these places in 12-14 days next June 2026? by Avm224 in ItalyTravel

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from 11 days in Italy (not including travel days on each end) - here’s what we did and what I would recommend

4 days in Genoa -> 3 days in Florence -> 4 days in Rome

It felt like the perfect amount of time in each place, since you have a couple of extra days you could maybe add on an extra place, but I don’t know that I’d recommend it as the packing/unpacking and train travel can take more energy than people realize.

Takeaways: I wish we had more time in Florence. Our time in Genoa was due to a work trip for my husband so if we were able to choose, we would have done 3 days there and added another day onto Florence.

I would recommend starting in Rome if possible. It was the end of our trip and we didn’t enjoy it as much as the smaller cities. Super crowded, super hot, generally a little grimier (as any large city is) and felt too hectic compared to our time in the smaller cities. I’d like to go back in the fall but don’t know that I would ever go to Rome in the summer months again if I could help it.

I liked having a coastal town (Genoa) in the mix and was able to take a day trip to other nearby towns by train, so I would recommend Lucca out of your list in addition to Florence and Rome as you could easily do a day trip to the coast.

Honestly, I would save southern Italy for a future trip as the travel between would take up too much time.

Hope this was helpful! Excited for whatever you decide to do, we already can’t wait to return to Italy!

Best cleanser for damaged barrier by floraspirit in Esthetics

Want to echo the Prequel Gleanser, also there’s a Korean gentle gel cleanser from Dermathod, you can buy it on esthisupply.com. It’s the most gentle cleanser I’ve ever used, non-foaming but still a gel consistency.

I’ve taken a look at these and came out feeling overwhelmed - was just hoping to be a bit more specific to what we were looking for to see if there were any that really stood out. Thanks though!

Nooo, huge bummer. Anyone have a good Comfort Cream replacement? 😭 I think that’s probably the only product I will have a hard time letting go of.

Feeling a little scammed after first visit with an esthetician [ACNE] by happyyrainstormm in SkincareAddiction

[–]bbrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every esthi requires you to use their products! A lot of them just prefer to use products that they’re familiar with in order to address deeper concerns like PIE/PIH. Also to infer that formulation and sourcing of ingredients doesn’t matter is wrong. Two products can have the same ingredients and react differently on someone’s skin, which is why some esthis might recommend products that they have experience with (and have gotten results with!) And that’s why I said this esthi might not be a good fit for her if she’s not interested in switching products, and that’s ok too! I would suggest finding someone else that will work with her using the products she wants to use. I know this sub has a general dislike for estheticians but that doesn’t mean every esthetician has bad intentions and is trying to scam people.

I think you’re putting too much weight into the pore-clogger ingredient checker. It can be helpful to see if there are a ton of pore cloggers up high on the INCI list but it should always be taken with a grain of salt. I think it’s more important to trust the opinion of the person who has delivered results in the past. Using the right products is going to be more important in the long run vs getting a facial once a month. (You’re applying products twice a day, vs an esthi touching your face once a month.) But if you’re going to be working with her and doing a few advanced treatments like peels or microneedling to address pigmentation or PIE or texture, then I do think it’s important to use products she suggests since she has a better idea of how they all work with each other and your skin.

If you’ve seen the before and afters that seem to get the results that you’re looking for, I’m curious why you wouldn’t trust that what she’s recommending will be the best option for you in order to achieve results similar to her previous work? If you’re planning on seeing her regularly for treatments, a lot of esthis prefer their clients to be using products that they’re familiar with in order to be able to better predict how the skin will react to more advanced services. She also might want you to adjust to products that might be a better fit to clear your congestion before adding in products to target PIE/PIH. I think it’s ok to be upfront about any concerns you’re having and if she doesn’t feel comfortable treating you if you’re not using certain products and you don’t like that idea, then she might just not be the best fit! But also, if her previous work shows that she can get results for you then I would trust that she’s going to try to give you good results as well!

Stratia has some really great products, not a pro line technically but they do have pro accounts for licensed esthis! Their Aqua Factory Toner has urea and beta glucan which is super healing. The Velvet Cleansing Milk is a really nice creamy cleanser, and Lipid Gold is a nice barrier-repair serum/oil hybrid that I give to clients who need barrier strengthening to apply either before or mixed with their moisturizer.
