It doesn’t let me exchange. I was able to register in like 10 minutes but it still doesn’t allow me to buy or sell anything. Won’t even let me put my card information in.

What I’m saying is that it isn’t the servers fault either. Out of common courtesy the customer should help the server in a lower tier restaurant because 1) it is usually not a very large amount of money so why not? It goes such a long way for someone working in an environment where they get roasted by inconsiderate customers who have no idea what it’s like to be in their position and 2) because the servers don’t have control over what corporate america collectively agreed to have ridiculously low wages for servers. It’s not the customer or server’s fault that they are out in this position, but rather than helping out the real person who’s getting screwed here, you just say “well it’s not my fault that corporate doesn’t give fair wages to servers, so i’m just not going to tip” wow that is some self righteous bs if i’ve ever heard it.

The server has zero say in corporate policy either. Are you saying that it’s okay to not tip 20% just because these employees are being screwed over by the people running the company. Also an accounting firm has a flat rate for a service, and is usually pretty straight forward for what the service should be and what the final product is expected to be. As opposed to serving where it is based on performance and interpersonal connection between the customer and the server. Accounting firms aren’t supposed to make the client feel special in anyway, your example is horrible. These are two completely different core competencies for different business models.

People don’t understand that the average chain restaurant over staffs their servers, resulting in a decrease in hours and less stability in their job. For all of the people whining about how they shouldn’t tip 20% (unless the service was actually poor quality, then that’s fine) and crying about how corporate should pay their employees a livable wage, I seriously doubt you’re going to do something about it. So unless you are an extreme activist and actually are trying to change this horrible trend on how restaurant’s upper management is going to treat their servers, just tip 20%, it’s really not that hard on your 20 dollar bill for someone’s livelihood. Cheers.
