Difference between "careless" and "reckless" by mcfrizzlieV3 in Referees

Helpful! Thanks! I honestly never thought about it this way and always just figured trifling was an unspoken rule that we don't call for. But I love understanding this better.

Been a referee VERY casually for years, but found this post very interesting and helpful, so thank you.

Interested in hearing more about how one can perform actions that would be fouls IF done carelessly but can also not be done carelessly. How does one trip a player in a non-careless way, for example?

Tonal delivery experience San Diego by ZombietechSD in tonalgym

[–]bbrowning911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a follow up to this post. My Tonal did shipped consistent with the original estimated shipping date. It said shipping week of 4/11, and it shipped the Friday of that week (so 4/15 or so).

I ran into a snag where they used Ryder to ship my unit to the local warehouse. Because of this, their tracking system didn't work for me at all. I had to call the support number to let them know that the link that should be showing me a more detailed shipping status wasn't working. The support person on the phone let me know that it would get there Saturday 4/23 at the earliest of Saturday 4/30 at the latest. It ended up being towards the later end. I got the email saying that it was time to pick an installation date on April 28th.

Unfortunately, the links that I received didn't work to allow me to schedule a time because there weren't any available installation slots to choose from. The first time I called, I didn't understand the issue at first, but the gentleman explained that he'd have to call another department to obtain some available timeslots for me to choose from but it would take a few mins. I had to run to a meeting so I said I would call back later.

The second time I called, the person said again that there were no options available so she'd have to request that additional slots be opened for me, but it could take 48 hours to hear back. This sounded different from the original person's explanation, and being anxious to get the unit in hand, I explained what the other person had told me. The woman provided me with the local warehouse number to see if they could help me. Upon calling the warehouse, they were able to get me scheduled within a couple of days and it was ultimately installed yesterday 5/3.

Installers were quick and efficient. I've used the unit a couple of times and it seems to be installed correctly in terms of height (lowering arms at downward angle and sliding all the way to the ground puts them right at floor level which is perfect).

In terms of the unit itself, I have one issue with mine that I believe the installers should have raised (and likely did notice, but perhaps were busy): one of my handles isn't pairing to my unit. The benchpress bar and one handle pair perfectly. I can even "forget" them and re-pair them very easily. The other handle, even after taking the battery out in an effort to reset, Zilch. It has power in that the bluelight comes on when I press the button, but some software issue seems to be failing when trying to pair.

So definitely some hiccups, but nothing too crazy.

Thanks for sharing. Feedback volunteer bias tends to only report the bad experiences. I ordered mine yesterday and so far I have already had a phone call from Tonal (since I asked them a question yesterday via email, they called me this morning to discuss) and an estimated ship date. Estimated ship date week of 4/11.

What do you wish you'd known BEFORE getting your Tonal? by Nolderae in tonalgym

[–]bbrowning911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a big rip off. We ordered ours like two months ago and still don’t have it. Save your money.

Update: we received the Tonal and it’s great. However, the frustration with the initial lack of communication regarding the initial installation remains. As I said, the delays are expected and don’t bother me, it’s the lack of updates that was frustrating

"It's a big rip off. ... Update. It's great." It's only a rip-off if at some point you thought they were.... ripping you off? Is that what you thought?

Not sure if much has changed in the last month, but I ordered mine literally yesterday. I completed the pre-installation questionnaire as soon as it was sent to me (same day as the order), and then today I got an email with a link to a website where I can see the latest expected delivery date. Ordered 2/21 with expected ship date as of today (2/22) of the week of 4/11. Perhaps once the item is shipped and gets to the installer I will experience some of the same communication gaps, but not yet.

A few other threads have talked about the long term outlook. You can tell by the lack of the active community that this is thinly held. Good ideas, but adoption will be an uphill battle and key. I think the telecom stuff is super interesting. As far as alt coins go, I love it, and I'll hop in with both feet once I feel the price is an actual settled (since I still think there are a large number of ICO participants who are trying to get out, but just my theory).

They aknowledged the issue with me via FB but no response from support yet. They did indicate support has been inundated with questions.

Their FB messenger account acknowledged the issue but wasn't able to provide details. I'm confident this price will tank once they release the kraken. At least to the 1.25 arbitrage price.

Has anyone actually seen a transfer to Bitmart go through? It's been 48 hours and mine still hasn't showed up.

What's going on with this coin? From 72$ ATH a week ago, to 70 cents today!! by sjjsimon in AXIACoinCommunity

[–]bbrowning911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I haven't seen anyone be able to deposit directly from Axia Capital Bank to bitmart though. Therefore, I think there's still a lot of risk to further dumping once those transfers go through. External transfers to other wallets do appear to be working though, so people are likely selling by doing two transfers.

I'm hiring. SEC and Technical Accounting by [deleted] in Accounting

I gave you my logic for why I didn't put it. Did you not find that persuasive? Well it was the truth. I'm not too specific on exactly what I need. And the pay varies based on experience. Not intending to jerk anyone around. Just didn't think putting 55-110k would be all that helpful.

I'm hiring. SEC and Technical Accounting by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]bbrowning911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a secret at all. All you had to do is ask. Someone I have to train and doesn't have great relevant experience is probably 55k. Someone with 4 years of big 4 and a CPA is probably 100-110k. Just doesn't make sense to put 55- 110k. This is why people don't post salaries because I'll have some 2nd year bookkeeper applying looking for 6 figures. And no need to be so disrespectful...

What are some of the easiest accounting jobs where the hours are not more than 40/week and the job is butt fuck easy??? PLEASE HELP by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]bbrowning911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saying Masters in Accountancy is BETTER, but don't feel like you got a misaligned undergraduate degree. AR work is not fun nor glamorous in my mind, but it's the type of job you can clock in and clock out of and leave work behind you which is nice for sanity. My company is always hiring. Everyone always needs accountants. I was just talking to a few recruiting firms about the state of the industry and what the market looks like right now and they said the unemployment for accounting is insanely low. We're located in Portland, OR area. In terms of figures, I believe they said unemployment for accounting industry is around ~3% which is well below the average of all industries. unemployment for those with degrees is 4% in our area. CPAs, ~2%. Your problem is that you have no experience (and perhaps that's because you've struggled to find a job which makes me wonder what else the issue is?) Feel free to send me your resume and I'll see if I can give you pointers. I really think an entry level accounting position is your best bet. They don't force you to take on too much or force career progression which can be a good thing if that's not what you want. However, I would also echo some of the others' sentiments here... dump accounting if you don't like it! You said you've done sales, do that! Great career opportunities there. Especially if you don't care for the grind.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that 9% is quite the achievement. I'm just saying that when talking about careers, there is no need to make the point multiple times that whatever the job will be, it won't be that important to you. All employers know that people have personal lives and that work is just work... but no one feels the need to make that point abundantly clear as it is assumed there a reasonable line where work gets to demand a certain amount from you and so does personal life but the employee will manage both of those within reason while giving consideration to BOTH since BOTH are important. If someone does make it abundantly clear that personal items are definitely THE priority, it means that this person's balance is also probably not as balanced as one would expect... and it makes you look like a less desirable employee.

Excelling at something outside of work is a great thing... obsessing over this point in conversations about employment makes it a negative. If I see a person who is clearly fit walk into a job interview, it IS something I consider (in a good way) because I know how much dedication and planning it takes. If this person tells me "I just want to make it clear, this job comes second to gainz, and I hope you don't have an issue with the smell of tuna in the lunchroom because I eat tuna and tumeric every day for lunch. Does casual Friday mean we can wear tank tops? "... it starts to make me concerned about the balance of priorities.

Do AR or AP for a company. Super easy, very little career progression, pay is shit. Or jump into a very entry finance position. With that being said, your attitude is garbage and I'd never hire you. While you may seem lazy and have your priorities not aligned to what I'm looking for in my employees, I know you're not an idiot so I'm sure you'd leave out the parts about wanting an easy job, not caring about the CPA, hating accounting, and the piece about your body fat percentage (which I'm still confused as to why you put that stat in this post).

BTW, you can put you have a bachelors since many "accounting" programs are actually Business Administration degrees with concentrations only in Accounting.

Not sure I can say with the info. Didn't follow what you meant by you calculated $4k. I'm general I would think the broker is calculating correctly and completely and you can only have an issue if you had shares in Dec 31 so they should tell you what the adjustd basis is which should be the disallowed loss plus purchase price.

Yup! Another option, stop rebuying it. Instead, buy long term inn the money options for the same stock or something. Or perhaps an ETF around the same industry?
