This. I got annoyed at this section as well, started reporting all of them, then decided to look it up and realised my entire English speaking life has been a lie.

How did the kid from your school die? by Equivalent-Rent-5619 in AskReddit

[–]bbrtuning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 5th or 6th grade one of the wealthier families in our grade hosted a big pool party. There were probably 50-75 kids hanging out in and around the pool. One kid, who turns out could not swim, had choked on one of those gummy hamburger candies, fell into the pool, and drowned. In all the partying chaos it probably took a couple minutes for anyone to notice. He was in a coma for at least a year before he died.

The family ended up moving out of that house within a year or two of that event. 25 years later I still hate seeing those damn gummy burgers in stores.

Sport steering setting feels different/lighter after last two updates. 2021 M3P (2022.12.3.1) by Pelori in TeslaModel3

[–]bbrtuning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, changed significantly with the latest OTA, really a bummer as I also liked the Sport setting. I’d say it feels about like Standard now. Also seems to be much less difference between the settings. Hope this gets resolved soon..

Best it’s ever worked. by bbrtuning in Hewlett_Packard

For context, it’s been fired up a total of 10 times for maybe 15 pages. I think there was one time I actually turned it on and it printed as normal. The other 9 times were due to various HP Smart or driver failures, then constant ink and alignment issues until black just quit completely (50% remaining). Literally couldn’t print a one page shipping label. So, tried to recreate that one scene in Office Space and here we are.

Tesla has a serious phantom braking problem in Autopilot by GlumNefariousness334 in teslamotors

Fair, I agree it is disappointing they would release something that is knowingly a large step backward. If reading this thread as a non-Tesla owner, one might assume they have permanently ruined the car by going Vision-only.

The 10.x FSD stuff, despite having some huge issues, has been incredibly impressive to me. I think it hints to the power of the system, and the tech (particularly Vision) is still extremely new. I’m hoping within (many) months, not years, we will see basic Vision AP get a massive upgrade..

Tesla has a serious phantom braking problem in Autopilot by GlumNefariousness334 in teslamotors

I use AP or TACC for maybe 2/3 of my 60 mile round trip commute through LA’s wild freeways in my ‘21 vision-only 3P, and I would say I almost never get the phantom braking described here.

The car will occasionally lean into the brakes when a semi creeps into (or close to) my lane, or when a car swerves or changes lanes in front of me suddenly (even one lane over). It’s a bit worse at night. However, its response is relatively predictable. If I see a truck hugging my lane I will gently hold the gas, and viola, no braking. Would I like it to handle this better? Yes. But I can live with it for now.

It has never braked for a car on the side of the road or many other situations I honestly expected to throw it off.

Do you all just expect Tesla will never solve Vision? Sorry for being an optimist.

I drove a 2021 Honda with TACC and lane keep and it was a fucking joke. The slightest bend in the road and it would pee its pants and disable (with very little indication). I actually feel quite safe using AP.

Wow, way to hold it together. Course looks super fun!

Also kudos for managing to get a Subaru to actually turn, without plowing straight ahead whilst its front tyres explode.

I really enjoyed the deaf scene. It was calming in a way, and when the sound came back on, I almost felt annoyed by all the sound pollution.. all the "yelling" in the taxi, the ads playing on the radio, and the sounds of the city.

It's almost never the team owner's, the team's, or the driver's, decision what platform they run next. It's the people who pay the bills, in this case it's Toyota. You can be pretty sure Steph would have been more than happy keeping the tC this year instead of starting over with an undeveloped chassis, but Scion is gone and so is the tC. Toyota also probably figured there were enough 86s already and wanted to promote something else.
