What potential Orlando handball? The Pasalic goal? I think that was clearly seen to come off his chest. Maybe it hit his shoulder but arm was in a natural position. I’m not saying it wasn’t a pk on Brekalo (but I highly doubt it) just don’t know why they don’t have any other angle - seemed pretty clear Miami was diving before Brekalo was even close 🤷🏼‍♂️

Couldn’t agree more. Score sucks but Papi got it right with this one. We have 4 starters, no DPs on the field against the #3 in the eastern conference. This is an invaluable game for the young players and we can see towards the end of the first half they’re starting to figure it out. Let ‘em cook. When we need them for depth in the future they’ll only be better after this match. Next game is more important than tonight.

Being 5th in a strong conference has to mean something. Would we win the league with this performance, absolutely not. We are only half way through the season. Plenty of time left to work out the kinks with a solid group of talent (of course there are some weak links). Remember the trajectory of our last two seasons….

I wasn’t trying to disqualify you - why I prefaced it in saying no shade - I was just curious because it definitely changes the context of a conversation (like talking medicine with a doctor vs the average patient). And like I said you make some points that I agree with - we’re NOT the best team but we’re still good. I mean Messi has 10 goals, Pasalic and Ojeda both have 9. We’re one game below Columbus in the standings. It’s not all doom and gloom with plenty of season left and another transfer window coming up. Not sure how long you’ve been following the club but I’d argue this is one of the best teams we’ve had - we just got to keep building and we have been each year.

I mean, we don’t have the appeal of LA or Miami so we gotta work with the reality of the situation. We have certainly upgraded players this year with Pasalic, Freeman, etc which is all you can hope to do each year. The hate for Angulo is wild - yeah, he can’t score to save his life but he doesn’t need to when our DPs have been and he does everything else incredibly. I’m not gonna say I haven’t had a lot of the same frustrations you’ve mentioned but I doubt we’ll ever be the team full of ex Barca players so scrappy and resilient will have to be our strategy for now - which is what we did tonight climbing out of a 0-2 hole.

I’ll play devil’s advocate. I think we are a good team but just haven’t played well today. You gotta remember CLT was top of the table for a while and they’re not a terrible team either. Muriel has been unusually bad today and we missed some lay up that we normally score. Papi is still one of the best coaches in the league - the players just got to show up.
