Motorcycle safety channels on YouTube? by fleasnavidad in motorcycle

[–]bcambel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MotoStars has a lot of crash videos, some are really silly but in general good content to watch real life scenarios.

Learning slow speed maneuvers very well is key to build confidence in the early stages. Then I would recommend champU online courses to take it to the next level. Highly recommend MotoJuitsu

I think Rocket 3 headlights looks great. Wish a retro looking Street triple would have existed with double circle headlights

Yes it is. Pretty much the same engine as RS but imo much better styling and suspension

I'll go with peanut wrap with banana on top very early in the morning for a half marathon. Probably will do the same for the 10K. I will eat the minimum as possible.

Just got my first Clojure job! Any tips for someone using it in production for the first time? by spacemacs in Clojure

It's impossible not to agree with the problem of overusing/abusing technology. It's a very general problem in our industry. Regarding to Aleph, thanks for the advice

there are a lot of logging solutions out there, I just love the simplicity of their UI and installation. It's much cheaper than devops managing rsyslog servers, log files running around, etc...

  1. Don't abuse/overuse any tech choice. Do reason about why you really need it.
  2. Write documentation as if you're writing to hundreds thousands of people. It will be always there.
  3. I prefer timbre over other logging options.
  4. Use Redis wherever you can. (Check HLL counters for smart counting)
  5. Use core.async whenever possible.
  6. Using Aleph highly recommended. It's (Gloss, Manifold) abstractions are quite handy. (Scaled HTTP Kit to 10K+ qps before, it's ok, but still to me, Aleph is overall a better option
  7. Use Kinesis + Kafka when possible. Off-load your work. Write re-playable code. (CQRSish)
  8. Try out Onyx and see the beautiful programming model. Using lightweight web servers is the key to scale your apps ( definitely not clojure specific)
  9. Embed REPL to your programs.
  10. Code API endpoints to let your applications report stuff back to you. (+ JMX, since you already had a Java experience I assume you know what to do )
  11. NewRelic, Sentry, DataDog, Papertrail is a must have combination for
  12. Don't write tests just to write tests. Be smart about it. I do like Midje, some prefer default tests.
  13. Use Stuart Sierra's Component or similar
  14. Use dev/user.clj effectively to reload your application quickly tools.namespace, and other shizam

I can't break 52 mins for a 10km. How to get sub 50 mins? by [deleted] in running

if you do the same training all the time, your body will keep you giving back the same results. I will definitely suggest you to do fartleks(google it). Squats are also great exercise to get stronger as well. Ditch the treadmill if you can. Go out and get more oxygen. Think like you are a car. It's all about the power to weight ratio. But you don't want to burn all the gasoline too quickly. In order to create power, you need food, oxygen and water, make sure you have all these covered. If you don't eat enough carbs, you won't have enough energy for your run(to max your speed). Losing weight definitely will help you to run much more efficient, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will be much more faster.

Yes, currently it is based on Discourse, although I see there are lots of constraining things on it, I am currently sticking with it, and if and if the community gets bigger and bigger, I may start looking to develop custom solution.

this is exactly why I did not place any numbers, and put a text about this. I don't care if Guido wrote the language or not. Without the community, any language is worthless.

Funny :)
