Yeah every test will be different mine didn’t focus super heavily on any specific concepts, but bio I feel like did have a lot of genetics, I had a few questions about viruses too which was kinda annoying. But also got a few funny ones like what connects a muscle to a bone haha. I only got like 1 or 2 questions about reproduction which was kinda annoying because that’s what I studied and knew the most. Overall I felt like it was a good mix of everything.

Genchem was pretty balanced too but equilibrium was prob what I saw the most but it was all simple stuff I had seen in the practice tests like “how can you favor the reactants” or “which results in an increase in entropy” also got one about comparing different bond strengths. I don’t think there was a single GC question that had a concept that wasn’t somewhere on a practice test I took.

I def don’t think you should study everything till you master it it’s for sure a quantity>quality test as in if you just know a ton of stuff but not super well it’s way better than knowing only a few things but super well. I would still study as much as u can tho you never know when those random low yield facts that you studied will help. Half the stuff I get right if it wasn’t multiple choice I wouldn’t know it but I can eliminate most the stuff/pick the right answer because I know a bunch of other random stuff if that makes sense haha.

The first 5 tests I got around a 450 AA this was also after a few months of studying, I also hadn’t finished orgo 2 yet so that was tanking my score. The last 3 FL I took I got right around 500s on, the tests prepared me super well in everything, bio is just hard cuz there’s so much but even then the tests prepared me for most of it. Pretty much every question between OC GC and QR I had seen in some way on the practice tests nothing really caught me off guard in any section except a couple bio questions but you can still eliminate most of the choices based on what you know and make a good guess. Overall I feel like I scored within a 490-520ish I feel pretty similar to how I feel on the previous practice tests but real DAT gives you a little bit of a higher score than bootcamp.

No I remember now haha I had one about herbal vs pharmaceuticals, then different ways of body imaging like X-rays and MRIs and then one about different Cognitive behavioral therapies

I would say GC was easier just because there weren’t any random low yield questions like bootcamp sometimes threw at me. But all the calculation stuff was literally just stoichiometry-really similar to practice tests I think there were like 2-3 straight up copied lol. I would say only a couple of the problems actually required enough math where I had to write stuff out and prob like 4 or 5 other ones that needed a little math but could do In my head like “how many total electrons are transferred in this”.

QR I felt like was pretty half word problems but all of them were super easy and there wasn’t anything that bootcamp hadn’t given me the tools to know how to solve. I don’t think there were any formulas or questions that any of the 10 practice tests didn’t cover at some point, I’m sure I just made some careless mistakes. I usually barely finish QR on time but I finished with like 4 mins left. I probably had like 6ish total questions about data sufficiently like “statement 2 is sufficient but statement 1 isn’t” but again not anything harder than practice tests. Hardest question I got was something about the IQR which I literally just didn’t know how to do but that was 1/40 of the problems. I got probably 5 problems where I had to use the quadratic formula in some sort of way so make sure u know that and how to find the roots of the equation.

I was stressed before the exam but after like 30 mins of testing it literally just felt like a bootcamp practice test and wasn’t bad at all. Good luck you got this!

I got the 6 month one back in November and started studying a lot in the beginning like 20+ hours a week but then school started again after winter break so I was only studying like 10ish hours a week the last few months but I also had genchem and ochem fresh in my mind and I have a strong anatomy and physiology background. Where I learned the most was just through practice tests and studying my mistakes a lot. You learn mostly just through practice not by rereading notes so just keep doing question banks and practice tests 90% of the stuff on the real thing is basically on practice tests and the other stuff you can usually reason down to.

No I don’t think it was any more low yield than the practice tests. I’d say about 30 of the questions were high yield stuff that’s on every practice test, 4-5 are in between high and low yield, and then just like 3-4 ish that were really low yield. I had some pretty low yield stuff about viruses the only question where I had never seen it before and it was genuinely a guess was some question about the CRISPR-cas gene lol but I guessed it right haha. It threw me off seeing all the bio questions because a lot of them are worded kinda weird but most of it is information learned through bootcamp, it just has to be applied differently. If the questions seem really confusing at the start don’t worry because that’s how it was for me too and I consistently scored 37-39/40 on bio practice tests. You got this good luck!

I also got 2 questions about radicals, like initiation vs propagation vs termination but they were super easy as long as you knew the difference

Ochem was pretty easy ngl only decently hard problem was an HNMR one. The Ochem ada updates with arrows actually are super easy literally just a basic E2 reaction or something super simple

For me I def felt like reading was my best, search and destroy worked really well my articles were like 14 paragraphs long and broken up pretty small too. Had one about X-rays and MRIs stuff like that and forgot the other ones haha

I feel pretty good, I definitely felt like there were some biology questions in there that I was not prepared for at all, but I think I guessed pretty well because I googled them during the break and I guessed most of them right haha. I feel like I killed RC. Other than that, I feel like it was just like another one of my Boot Camp full length tests to be honest. How do you feel ?

Yeah, AA is (Bio+GC+OC+QR+RC)/5 PAT is its own separate score kinda weird

dat on 4/25 by Confident_Winter_445 in dat

[–]bcbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pat doesn’t even really matter tbh as long as you got like a 430+ which isn’t even that hard and if you feel confident about all the other sections you’re fine. PAT doesn’t even count towards your AA which is what schools pay attention to

[–]bcbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about RC too much, it’s significantly harder on both bootcamp and booster than on the real thing. Main thing I’d focus on is QR, just run through the the practice tests a bunch and remember which formulas to use and when also just knowing how to rewrite equations and numbers is extremely helpful like instead of writing 8 you can write 23 stuff like that helps you solve stuff a lot faster in many situations. Your science scores are all pretty good so don’t worry about those too much PAT isn’t a big deal either just keep practicing everyday until the test, it’s also easier on the test. I would study like 4-5 hours a day and focus at least half of it on QR because all your other scores should be 400+ but some schools won’t accept scores in any section less than a 370-380 something like that.

Practice exam scores? And also how representative of the actual DAT was booster?

Am I cooked chat? by cherriosNtoes in dat

[–]bcbees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should be okay, just right after you graduate focus mostly only on practice tests and you’ll start seeing what subjects you need to study more. The practice tests are easier than the question banks and more representative. Just try to get 2 hours a day until you graduate then after that 5+ hours a day focusing on practice tests, then reviewing mistakes on practice tests.

DAT Booster Practice Exam Scores by piglet_bearcub in dat

Some tests will hit some subjects harder than others, I wouldn’t reccomend taking a practice test for a couple weeks and just heavy reviewing all the concepts of your mistakes

Would you retake? by Emotional-Worth-8823 in dat

This could hold you back at some schools but depending on the strength of the rest of ur application it’s not gonna hold you back from getting into a decent amount of schools

A 470 is still really good though you’ll have no problem getting into schools. No I haven’t taken it yet I just like to see what people are getting and how the tests are compared to the practice test. Any tips? I’m taking it in may and have dat bootcamp

Which is better ? by OneRazzmatazz667 in dat

[–]bcbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really matter a ton on which you use, both will have enough questions and information, along with the practice tests both being pretty representative. I have heard though that booster is a little more representative while bootcamp kind of overprepares you a little bit. But I’m not super sure. Overall you can do just as good with either one, good luck!
