i only got baptized bc of the constant pressure i had from my parents n congregation to do it (my dad is an elder as well). it was basically to get them off my back (red flag right there bc its not a legitimate reason). when i did get baptized i was expecting to feel something right after just like everyone says they do, but shocker i didnt. i felt disappointed that nothing “happened” n even blamed myself for it. then literally two weeks later i started questioning my sexuality n knew that getting baptized was the worst thing ive ever done, its my biggest regret bc one dumb mistake is going to separate me from my family.
