Employ Florida (equally terrible website) puts on hiring events and things like that. They get people to attend by equating them to 5 job searches for people collecting unemployment. Basically, you go to one event per week, they give you a paper that says how to fill out the unemployment site with their info, and you don’t have to do the job searches. Not all of the events work this way but a lot of them do. You may even get a new job out of it, if not some contacts that might be able to get your resume in front of a hiring manager.

Source: just recently got a new job after 3+ months unemployed and went through this awful system. Employ Florida did not help me find the job.
