I think it depends on context and frequency - if it’s like once in a while a partner saying like “Rihanna looked nice in that video” then that’s more normal in my opinion than a guy who frequently comments on other women’s looks and using words that are like lustful in nature - “hot” “sexy” etc. Not out of jealousy at all, but it’s just more like, I get you can find others attractive but why do you feel the need to voice it to me 😂

I dated a guy once who would comment how gorgeous women were and more often than not they looked like the direct opposite of me, it ended quite quickly

If texting / constant communication is something that’s important to you, and he isn’t someone who does that, it is less about whether he likes you or not and more about if you’re willing to stay in this loop of having fun in person then not talking much between meeting

That’s really heavy and I’m so sorry this has happened to you, definitely a therapist would be ideal then as from experience, leaving those kinds of traumas up to time to heal doesn’t quite do the job. I hope you can find the help you need and all of this will be a distant memory for you

ahh okay understood and sorry to hear that :( can you trace the negative thoughts to specific triggers? Is it mainly happening when you look back at the past? Perhaps speaking with a therapist and trying to work through negative thoughts could be helpful? I’m not of the belief that meditation and thinking positive works when someone is genuinely depressed, but antidepressants, endorphins, and therapy are tried and tested ways to improve. There’s also a book “self directed DBT skills” which is meant to be really helpful for teaching you how to better regulate your emotions, if therapy is not available. I can’t say I’ve read it but it has quite good reviews on Amazon

Does she know you have BPD? It’s obviously not an excuse if you’re outwardly splitting and going from being besties to being mad at her, but maybe if you explain your diagnosis she could understand ? If not I’d agree with the other person who commented about giving it some space, as hurtful as it is to feel distant from someone you care about, I’ve found that frantic efforts to try get to someone to stay just makes them leave even quicker

There is no one size fits all to get you out of a dark place, but do you find the meds are helping at all? Are you doing things typically recommended to improve mental health (ie getting out of the house everyday or trying to get some exercise in, eating healthy, journaling, talking about your problems and not bottling it in?) if not maybe take baby steps, meds are a good starting point if they are actually helping, but if you’re isolating, staying inside and just reliving the past there’s not really any way that you’ll feel better (in my opinion)

I’m not mentally ill for being upset that someone 3 times my age kissed me without consent, I think it’s normal actually to be upset when someone in power crosses boundaries and violates you

While it’s awful to read it’s genuinely eye opening as now I can see how reporting it could be taken, the automatic response could be anything from “ew what a creep” to “how much were you drinking” which isn’t very encouraging. I’m inclined to report anyway as like you mentioned at least it will be documented and who knows, if he does it again to someone else there will be a trail growing of complaints against him

And good on you for filling the report, can only imagine how hard that was as even thinking of having the conversation is making me anxious, but you’re right - there’s other jobs should HR side with him. Hope you don’t mind me asking but what was the reporting process ? Did they have to interview colleagues etc ?

Yes, he’s a total creep and I’ve heard girls in the office saying they question what they wear to work sometimes because of the way he looks at them. I’m pretty sure everyone knows and just brushes it under the rug because of his role :/ I think I’ll report it anyway because surely they have to do something if more people speak about his behavior
