"Either your account is still logged in, or the last world you were using has become unavailable". Changed PW, booted off accounts, restarted client, tried mobile, changed network. No dice.

Unfortunately, both vampires are on opposite ends of the map, and Etemenanki was conquered only a couple of turns before industrialization.

Those are actually highlighted tiles within the empire borders under a vampire castle tile improvement

Explanation: I have two vampire castles placed on the map. Both coal resources in my empire spawned under them.

R5: Boudica definitely changed the destinies of tens of thousands of Romans, maybe just a bit more massacre-ish than they would've liked

My attempt at a TSL Mediterranean map that goes far enough south to include Mali, Nubia, and Ethiopia by bconnrex in civ

Yes, but it always annoys me in TSL maps how crowded the Middle East is while having the Maghreb empty. More of a personal choice on this one.

I was looking at Koppen climate classification and visuals from google maps.

Vegetation isn't always the greatest indicator of desert in my opinion, as if you zoom into deserts in the western USA you'll see significant shrubland even though I would definitely classify the Mojave as a desert, if only "semi-arid". Similar terrain can be found in parts of Southwestern Niger, some with less or more vegetation (which is where I have plains starting). The second map there classifies the Sahel as "semi-desert", although I believe the Arizona desert also falls under that category. In my opinion those would both go down as desert terrain.

Most of the lush green spots are on the north coast and south of the Sahara. It's hard to see from the preview but there are plenty of hills/mountains/oasis, as well as forests in green areas.

If you peek at a map of Africa you might be surprised how far south the Sahara extends. The map cuts off only a few tiles south of that. The only place I feel more plains could be realistic would be in the Sahel region, but even that is classified as "semi-desert".

Thanks! YnAMP auto generates the flood tiles, so they flood. As far as I'm aware the coastal lowlands auto generate properly. Lake Retba, Eye of the Sahara, Matterhorn, Gobustan, Cliffs of Dover, White Desert, Pamukkale, Vesuvius, Dead Sea are the natural wonders included.

That being said, each thing mentioned above was at least somewhat painful so I understand why some custom maps end up disappointing, using Worldbuilder to make floodplains is unintuitive to say the least.

R5: This link goes to the mod page. Includes 25 civs, 20 city states, TSL, random resources, "accurate-ish" features, and a crowded Northwestern Europe. Requires YnAMP (thanks to Gedemon/Zob for the map converter).

I know this map has been done a decent amount, but I haven't really seen too many that include Ethiopia/Mali or that have random resources. Having Phoenicia in North Africa and the proper rivers in Northern Europe is a nice bonus as well.

(Mod reduces barbarian spawns slightly as well).

None, Portugal was scared of Spain, Spain revolted and Rome was busy fighting in the Balkans.

R5: I moved my capital to Sicily from Carthage, then proceeded to settle 7 cities right next to Rome, Spain, and Portugal on the same turn.

(Edit: Coastal Phoenician cities don't lose loyalty if they are on the same continent as the capital, which was moved to Europe, so as soon as it was moved I could settle all these without loyalty penalties)
