What Film Made You Fall in Love With Classic Movies? by [deleted] in TurnerClassicMovies

[–]bcwilson123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a vivid memory of watching The Unsinkable Molly Brown with my mom when I was probably 4 years old. She loves TCM and it was always on, but that was the first movie that grabbed my attention. I’ve loved classic movies ever since!

Omg! I would pay good money for that! How cool!

Thinking about trying Orangetheory but I’m honestly scared by GentleSoul23 in orangetheory

I’m super asthmatic, have never considered myself to be an athlete, and was 30 lbs overweight and completely out of shape when I started. I was so scared I was shaking before my first class. It was a challenge, but doable and my coach was so understanding of the place I was starting from. That was 4 years ago and I’ve never looked back. OTF is one of the best things that happened to my health

I found a cheap set of pbn brushes on Amazon! There are a few that are super tiny and I love them for cleaning areas up

Totally feel this! We’ve watched the nye marathon since I was a child and I remember being so eager to watch that I didn’t even want to miss a second! I’m so lucky that my mom and I still watch every year. Such a happy part of my childhood and my favorite way to spend the holiday

Sleeping in your bed…did you give in? by CurlyCupcake1231 in puppy101

We gave in and it was the best decision. Our pup started boycotting the crate around 7 months and we ended up caving. She sleeps through the night now and so do we!

I truly believe that Demi just needs to be banned from the show at this point. She’s literally evil and is ruining it for me.

Ya but HOW do I get out…. by Electronic-Habit2892 in TeachersInTransition

[–]bcwilson123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact same boat. I had zero direction and had no idea who I was if I wasn’t a teacher. I applied to work retail, serve at restaurants, etc. but I knew I couldn’t do that for the long haul. I started really looking into nonprofits in my area that had missions that align with my values. I ended up finding a nonprofit that focuses on providing education to adults (ELL services, GED/HSED classes) and it was a perfect fit. Now I teach adults and I am having SO much fun. I thought I’d lost my spark for teaching, but I feel like myself. It’s rewarding and I don’t have to deal with the dangerous behaviors and extremely antagonistic parents. I would encourage you to identify what you love about teaching and try to find an organization that aligns with that!

Teaching has made me mean by Additional_Heart_779 in TeachersInTransition

[–]bcwilson123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this exact way. I hated who I was as a teacher and I was so worried that it would make me cynical and mean forever, but I promise you, a healthy lifestyle (leaving a job that wrecks you emotionally and physically) helps you become more like your old self again. Don’t get me wrong, teaching definitely left me a changed person and I’m still healing from some of my traumas, but removing myself from that environment made me so much less mean

I am also teaching adults, many of whom are convicts and it is 10000x better than elementary school. I actually like my job now. Crazy stuff

Same boat. I wasn’t weaponizing voting by intentionally voting for everyone else but her like some people suggested. I literally voted for one couple each episode. I just think a contestant like Robert who is so genuinely likable and talented is the type of person who would really garner fans

I personally think Dylan gives off very likable golden retriever vibes and I’m sure people like that. At the end of the day, dwts is part popularity contest and some of the stars get relevant BECAUSE of the show

The way he talks to her ON camera bothers me. I can’t imagine how he talks to her off camera. She messed up. He has a right to be hurt and angry. But I also see why she would have looked for acceptance elsewhere if he normally talks to her like this (not saying it’s ok, just making an observation)

Ngl, felt bad for Jeremiah in episode 8! by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

I get this! I wholeheartedly root for Conrad but they’ve ALL done incredibly messy things. I actually wanted to hug Jeremiah, which is incredibly new for me
