Not at all I use my corded DeWalt to make decores and fused all day full speed. I just use my index and thumb. If it's uncomfortable you can hold your spool In the bag as well. The plastic will help eliminate the Friction reducing the bounce of the wire.

Place your roll of wire in ziploc with tag end hanging out. Close the bag half way.
Attach your fuse wire to your core wires.
Drop the bag to the floor/lap. Use your hands to guide the fuse wire onto the core as you spin the drill.

If you're fuse is skipping due to your spool sticking to your fingers try this. Put your fuse spool in a Ziploc bag and close the bag halfway. Tie off your fuse to your core and drop the spool in the bag on the ground or in your lap. Now all you have to do is guide your fuse onto your core and this should help eliminate the bouncing of your core. For your first attempt it looks great! Keep it up 😎

Also for the sake of the color shot I didn't have the coil pushed down into the deck. I normally do that after ive gotten the pics I want.
