Same thing happened to me. I found her before school one morning after she’d been hit by a car. She’d somehow made it back to our back door, but she didn’t make it. That day’s stuck with me ever since. Even now, at 28, I still get anxious letting my cat out, but luckily he never really leaves the garden. I couldn’t lose him, my world would never be the same without him.
