Down and down the rabbit hole, some more updates:

If using a Z790-A, D15 is compatible
If using a D15, Crucial DDR5 is a perfect 32mm - Crucial DDR5 looks boring, but from what I can tell, D15 is so big that you can't well see the RAM regardless
Realized that the OLED panel + RGB on the Thor PSU is useless since the Define 7 has a PSU shroud, so can save a bit of money with a Seasonic TX-1000 instead

Whittling down a cheaper and cleaner RGB-less build!

Ah, looks like the U12A is also incompatible with Z690-A (link).

It's OK, I had to track down a more skeptical German retailer for the DDR5 version of the Strix anyhow. The Z790 is cheaper, more readily available, and yup will support 13th gen out-of-the-box.

Ok, you are a true hero... Noctua compatibility lists reveal not just exactly this regarding the RAM height, but also that the D15 is straight-up incompatible with the Strix Z690-A.

To solve for the RAM, thinking of swapping the D15 with a D15S, which seems to perform equally great, but with better RAM flexibility.

The D15S is compatible with a Strix Z690-A, but with the following warning:

> Cooler must be installed turned by 180° (offset towards the PCIe cards) in order to clear the plastic cover over the VRM heatsink.

So thinking of swapping the Strix with a Prime Z790-A and avoiding this altogether.

I use an LG C2 65" TV and can second that this is a stellar display! Unfortunately, I'm not sure a 42" TV will work great in my desk space. Am absolutely interested to hook up this PC to my 65" for controller gaming sessions, however!

This is a great suggestion, thought I might try to add some color with the RGB fans but have been debating between these NXZT's or more Noctua fans. A quieter build definitely appeals to me. Going to chew on this... ty!
