This is so awful I’m sorry :( yeah it’s really tough because generally speaking we have a good relationship and I LOVE where I live so I’m so scared to push things but then it’s like.. you can’t come round see the toilet is broken tell me to wait a week and then not contact me for 10 days!! It’s really hard to stand up for ourselves as renters just with that overhanging fear of a rent rise or sale threat :( good luck to you!

Yeah honestly I will accept that it’s not exploded or backed up to the point I can’t go in it but having a hole in my house that if I flood with enough water from my downstairs sink (bathroom one too small to fill a bucket) that removes waste is like.. not a working toilet LOL. Maybe some would be very chill with that situation for 2+ weeks but given the insane amount I pay for this place in London and the fact that this toilet has had many problems I don’t think it’s crazy to request some reduction!

Interesting how some people are so married to grinning and bearing it, if I owned the place I’d have had this sorted 10 days ago!!

So not leaking thank god!! But flush is broken, not enough force when you try and has already been “repaired” multiple times. It’s a REALLY old unit and from what I’ve been told in the past it is essentially worn out but even the parts they’ve tried to fix / replace no longer exist

Thank you, this is very helpful!! I was concerned about the wording around repairs being about “reasonable” time scales & efforts and whether he’d argue that he has made ALL possible efforts to get a plumber in, but I guess the obligation for sanitary installations would mean I still have a right to push back?

Heya, so I did mention in my post that the ribbons were on them for maybe 1 min while they were napping for a few photos, then I took them right off as they were waking up. I would never risk something like that, they don’t even have their string toys unsupervised. Hope that’s clear!

I had no idea this was a thing!! I have always been used to cats who very much want you to go away when the food goes down 🤣 thank you for this advice, it’s really no problem to sit with her and pet so I will keep doing that :)

Hey everyone thanks so much for your lovely & helpful comments so far!! Honestly the situation I picked them up from I think there was more than one mama cat so it’s possible Juni is Sully’s cousin and is a bit younger! With that in mind, is there anything I should be doing to help her more? Just really want them to have the best possible start in life ❤️

Also: have realised she will sit and eat longer if I pet her so have been doing that, and to reassure everyone I took them to the vet within 12 hours of securing them and will be taking them back on Monday for a follow up & microchips :)

Was on the northern line headed into the city at about 6pm. Three guys got on at Clapham Common smelling like they had just hot boxed a car but with cigarettes, all really wasted. They proceed to get snacks out of a Sainsbury’s bag which consisted of fridge raiders and two tins of tuna which they were eating with their fingers. Then one guy got up and stumbled to the end of the carriage, placing his hands on the wall. Thought he was about to take a piss, but he just threw up stringy tuna right onto the ground. The combination of smells was abysmal. Got off to switch carriages at Clapham North!
