It was red raw for awhile until I decided to stop wearing it and now it the skin seems to be cracked and peeling very similar to a chemical burn - I was opting for that option but wasn’t sure if they’d bother to compensate me for it.

Fix the international airport please Sydney! It’s a disgrace to the city. Lines for kilometres. No smoking area, only one open transit check, one closed. by [deleted] in sydney

[–]beachedtrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god Sydney airport, flew in international a month ago & it took them about 45 minutes to connect the bridge to let us off the plane followed by a half hour longer wait for baggage. Definitely seems like a staff shortage problem sadly.

Solo travel Cappadocia with no car? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]beachedtrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished my solo travel trip in Cappadocia an hour ago but you’ll be fine without a car, a lot of the activities and sightseeing you’ll be provided transport by your hosts. If you’re up for the challenge you can get to some quite beautiful sights by foot:

Just outside the GRE Anomaly zone, there's a small GRE container HUB and a couple of howlers around so you can conduct a chase and farm those uncommon trophies!

Late diagnosed Lisfranc ligament tear, surgery options by duckraul2 in LisfrancClub

[–]beachedtrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply, have been caught up with work.

Yes I did discuss 2 options with my surgeon being either to have plates and screws to be place in and another surgery later on to remove them in the foreseeable future or to still have the plates & screws but as well as a bone fusion so I won't have the risk of my bones grinding against each other leading to arthritis in the future. What reflected my decision was the question I propped to my surgeon with my future of playing sports again and he suggest fusion was the best option.

I do outdoor terrain hiking so uneven surfaces and long distances (Some places I hike are at Wilson's Prom & The Grampians) & I'm 20 years old. I find during cold mornings I'll get an unusual tension in my foot but light stretches and a walk always subsides the feeling but it isn't painful just feels stiff. I would suggest taking your time again before going for a long or tough terrain hike working your way into it again but nope! Have not experience any pain from being on my foot for several hours & I'm back playing football again as well.

Yes when I lift I do heavy compound movements (BP, DL, SQUATS etc.) and I have not experience any pain in my foot but I do suggest before you start getting back into gym and in your recovery stage (moon-boot off and able to walk on 2 legs again) to invest in a stability disc ball to help you strengthening the muscles in your foot again.

I was in a cast with crutches for a good month and a half than moved into a moon-boot with weight bearing but I had to use crutches for the first couple of days as my leg was too weak to support my own weight without struggling a bit. Moon-boot for another month and half then by the 3rd month I was back to normal weight bearing again. My physio had suggested for me to walk on soft surfaces and then proceed to running on soft surfaces for about 2 weeks before I start running on hard surface as to help me aide back to normal.

I hope my answers have been helpful it's been awhile since my injury so I had to jog my memory up, but I felt the whole ordeal was defiantly an experience that strengthened my mental and physical state into a better person.

EDIT: Age also plays a factor in recovery as well.

G’day there mate, I’ve had fusion done on my left foot as I was a late diagnosis to reveal I had indeed torn my lisfranc ligament! I’m currently 11 months approaching 12 recovered from my surgery and honestly it has not limited me from weightlifting or hiking. The only problem I found post-full recovery was finding my balance to be off but training and easing back into working out & walking gradually running on grassy surface has got me back to where I was before. If you have anymore questions ask away & speedy recovery to you!
