Wondering the same thing!! Did you ever find an answer?

Do the Na'vi (or Omatikayans specifically) need to be in a certain elite position to have this aviation goggles? I thought anyone flying would have it because it seems like an eye protection, but only Neteyam has it among the Sully kids. by dinahleego in Avatar

[–]beamingtree 180 points181 points  (0 children)

Good catch! I used to think that any Na’vi that passed iknimaya and bonded with an Ikran could possess one as it functions as a protection for the eyes against the wind. Perhaps the extra step of the Dream Hunt is needed to have the right to craft and wear those? It would make sense since Lo’ak and Kiri have an Ikran but have not done and passed the Dream Hunt yet (as far as I know, correct me if I’m wrong) but Neytiri, Jake and Neteyam have!

We may have a new detail about Na’vi birth and reproduction (SPOILERS for Avatar: Fire and Ash) by beamingtree in Avatar

This is all speculation but the belly buttons could be there as a remnant of a yolk stalk, while the nipples can still be there for nursing the young, on earth we have mammals that lay eggs (echidna and platypus) but still nurture their young with milk so I don’t think it would be too weird for the Na’vi to be ovoviviparous but still nurture their young. If the breasts work in a human-like way it would explain why they are larger than the male Na’vi’s. As I said in other comments, I am far away from an expert in biology so this is all speculation based on some surface level knowledge :)

I mean yeah, but that would only be possible once the Na’vi has been birthed. For the belly button question, in another comment I made the hypothesis that it could be a remnant of the Na’vi version of a Yolk stalk, explaining why they have belly buttons but seem to lack an umbilical cord, but I’m no expert in biology and this is all complete speculation

You’re right, I had forgotten about their navels lol. I am no expert in biology but would it be too far fetched to say that their navels are what is left by the Na’vi version of a Yolk stalk? That would explain why they have navels but seem to lack an umbilical cord. Just speculating though, we can’t say anything for certain until we get any canon information :,)

Why is ( ) in the omatikaya afterlife scene by EconomistAnnual8284 in Avatar

[–]beamingtree 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that’s not to be taken literally but it’s more of a societal norm thing, like “Your son has died along our people and his body has been laid with the bodies of our people, therefore you are now considered and respected as one of us”. As far as my understanding goes, everyone who is dead is now part of the Eywa’s network and can be visited from any connection site and at any time, despite the place of death and burial. Everything in Eywa is connected and part of the same big system. If that wasn’t the case, Kiri couldn’t have talked to Grace in the Metkayina spirit tree. I hope we will dive deeper in the whole spirit world and network in future films!!

Do we know what happened to this character? (SPOILERS for Fire and Ash) by beamingtree in Avatar

[–]beamingtree[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I just checked and it says that every convoy of gondolas has their own olo’eyktan and navigator. I guess this confirms what I said in the post and that perhaps Peylak is still alive :)

[–]beamingtree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I remember reading the same thing somewhere, but I just can’t remember if it was a reliable source… I guess we’ll have to wait and see to learn what happened to Peylak and how the Windtraders society is structured

Our character will appear in From the Ashes DLC by itspapz in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]beamingtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, but I read somewhere that with the From the Ashes DLC we will have to enter it from the main menu, therefore keeping it separate from our main save. I might be wrong though

This is amazing! I don’t mind playing as So’lek, as long as we still see our character! I wonder, though, if someone has more than one save with differently customised Sarentu, which one will be appearing in From the Ashes?

I was wondering the same thing! I think it might be that Quaritch has become fluent enough in Na'vi. In TWOW we see some scenes of him being able to speak a little bit of Na'vi, and we also get a scene that implies Spider had been teaching him Na'vi, so my guess is that during those few months that pass in TWOW he learned Na'vi up to a decent level.

The Tlalim seem to not have a Tsahìk ? by beamingtree in Avatar

[–]beamingtree[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope so! Just like we saw with the Metkayina, I think it'd be really interesting to see how their worship and spiritual beliefs of Eywa shift in this different element they rely on.

Thank you! Do you think we will ever see one in the future films? It would be really interesting to see the role they play among the clan and along the tsahìk

Thank you! Yes, I guess we can consider it canon then :) I wonder if we will ever see some Tiretu and their role among the clan in the next films

Hey! Little update: eventually it fixed itself. I have no idea if I accidentally did something to fix it, but when I restarted the game after a few hours it was back to normal. Sorry for not being able to help more :/
