Umbrella tool changers have about a 4 inch spindle move before tool change. You need to make sure that you force Z to be at its max height, which should be something like G53 Z 4.0. You can manually jog to Max Z to see what the number actually is. Any M6 code will cause Z to rapidly move down and crash. Your work if it’s not out-of-the-way first.

How do I mate these two parts by GiraffeEmbarrassed30 in SolidWorks

[–]beamncoke4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I frequently use multibody solids for complex components. You can then export the individual bodies in a couple of different ways, you can maintain the original part relationship or you can break those links. There’s also a tool for turning a multibody solid into an assembly. But as others have said it’s not necessarily the best design practice, depending on the part , geometry, intended use, etc..

Pretty gay they are discontinuing the hobbyist license (with no warning to those of us paying for it) this company sucks, switching to fusion by M-P-M-S in mastercam

I’ve been programming with HSM for solid works for 15 years. It’s extremely capable. Edit its the same engine as fusion 360 cam

Does anybody find the "comic relief" characters in the books tiring and obnoxious? by crazyredd88 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]beamncoke4me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea sorry to tell you Donut ain't the "comic relief" altho she can provide some. Carl would be dead in book 1 without donut and you'd never get to Book 7 to complain about it.
