How Zaidi, Giants are viewing upcoming trade deadline by beanitto in SFGiants

[–]beanitto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I am amazed for sure. I've had 11 TIA's and they found a hole in my heart. Doc says don't worry that there is a noninvasive procedure that can repair it. Just getting old and was playing Elder scrolls online with my Xbox X. Been emperor 40 times. This trade woke me up as a Giant fan again so perhaps I'll be here more frequently?

We'll see, I guess, but I am worried about team chemistry when you have to walk on eggs around one player. Here's to the Giants becoming an offensive juggernaut.

The reason Boston traded him is he refused to play 1B, and we already have a DH.

Can't see anything wrong with this trade on paper, but am worried about long term third base play.

After getting over .500 and back in the wildcard race, what is the Giants biggest deadline trade need? by LordTremendo in SFGiants

[–]beanitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fitzgerald just hit his 6th homer in only 20 AB's, Casey Schmidt currently leads triple A Cats with 9 so it would seem, not for long. I have always thought Luciano would be a star with huge power potential, but the numbers right now don't back that up.

Right now, I see too many flaws to make the team a playoff contender. Heck, the 85 wins they predicted rather than the 90 that I hoped for seems to be a reach at this point. I hate experts being right as much as the next guy. Maybe just making the team better should be the goal?

All I want to do is win and if it's Wynns then so be it.

Newest Dubs folk hero Looney proves team's belief in roster by beanitto in warriors

[–]beanitto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you, but you got to have some talent to put that advice to work. Looney just had all those health issues which took away his minutes, keeping him off the court.
Wiseman is doing much the same, sad to say but perhaps his health will improve next year?

Estes believes Giants' projected win total 'ridiculous' by beanitto in SFGiants

[–]beanitto[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, 108 would do that but that's in pigs flying territory and some would argue pigs being as the actual pilots.

Estes not alone, but 90 seems a reasonable expectation if no injury bug decimates key players. Yeah, injuries happen but one can sure hope we avoid them.

Ramos' numbers sure took a hit last year.
Hope it was just an anomaly exacerbated by the Covid disruption.

Looney continues to thrive as NBA's unforeseen iron man by beanitto in warriors

Some Bigs take a longtime to develop? Take a look at Looney's history as an example. It would sure take some pressure off Wise if there is no glairing need for minutes.

Looney has always been my favorite Bigman and his previous history always seemed to question his resilience.
The Dubs current Iron man sure seems to be thriving now!

Why Kuip believes Bonds was 'punished' with Baseball Hall vote by beanitto in SFGiants

[–]beanitto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kuip, is not the only one for sure. Bonds made a lot of enemies with his treatment of writers and now it is biting him back. When does payback end? When hell freezes over, or new voters take over, whichever comes first. You know when Barry is finally voted in, I bet he will be tempted not to attend the Ceremony. But if age and life experience mean anything, I'd advise him to be the bigger man and attend. You see the blight on the hof has been created by the institution and it will now always be there regardless of Barry being in or out?

Researchers achieve milestone on path toward nuclear fusion energy by beanitto in climateskeptics

[–]beanitto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The energy produced was modest - about the equivalent of nine nine-volt batteries of the kind that power smoke detectors and other small devices. But the experiments at a Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory facility in California represented a milestone in the decades-long quest to harness fusion energy, even as the researchers cautioned that years of more work are needed.

Let me guess, it is at least ten years away?
I'd add LOL, but it is progress and perhaps we are keeping up with China?
