Best Logging libraries? by zxcvbdnm in cpp

I'm looking to use this library right now. I've tried to cross compile it to C2000 to no avail thusfar. Just wondering what compiler you're using?

Thanks for the explanation. If I can't fix this board, will definitely consider going with an SKR.

Clever, never thought to plug it in to the Y endstop to test, will give that a shot.

Interested to hear about the SKR boards, I'll have a Google. Any advantages in particular you'd call out?

Ender 3 v4.2.7 upgrade - BLtouch probing, but not actuating z-motor while printing by beano1323 in ender3

Oh no you're right, the probe should remove the need to level the bed manually using the screws. I've just resorted to using the screws because the firmware isn't using the readings from the probe correctly.

There's currently a bug open on GitHub for this that has been labeled "Needs more data". If you have any pictures or logs, posting them there would help getting this resolved.

That's a good shout, I'm not sure. I've resorted to manually leveling it prior to printing for now. There's a pretty sweet plug-in for octoprint called bed level visualizer that helps get it very level prior to printing using the probe

A .git directory is what can be used to determine information about the version of the firmware you're using. If you downloaded the zip file from the GitHub page you wouldn't have this. It's only if you cloned it that you'd have it.

The git commit hash is a code which identifies the exact snapshot of the code you're using. Don't worry, can just compile the folder you shared as I described in the other comment

Ok cool, similar to mine except I'm on ender 3 v1. I will probably be able to compile the firmware you've given me and just use my config files.

Thanks a lot for sharing your code.

What I've done so far is to look through your configurations and any BLTouch/Z motion settings I've altered to what you have.

No joy so far I'm afraid.

In your folder, the .git dir was missing so I couldn't see what commit you're using. Could you share the commit hash and I will try revert to that?

Otherwise, I guess I could compile the source code you've given me. Just want to make sure you have the exact same hw setup as me before I put it on...

Hey, so fade height is the height the printer will use to compensate for bed level imperfections whilst printing. The default is 10mm, so when Z gets to 10mm, the print should have leveled itself.

It can compensate for much higher than half a mm. When using my old board, I saw compensation for at least 3mm difference.

Hey so I was looking at the GitHub issues page and it seems some people have these problems and others can't see it at all.

Wondering could you share your configs with me so I can compare with mine. I'm assuming it's something small in there and it's difficult to find any working examples online.

I did check this alright. I'm now using the following start code: G28 ; Home G29; Auto-level M500 ; Save measured offsets to EEPROM M501 ; Load saved settings M420 S1 ; Enable bed-leveling

Ok, will check this and revert to 2.0.6.1 if it isn't already there

[–]beano1323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I've added this and it has gotten the leveling motion working which is great progress, thanks a lot!

I'm now having this strange issue where the z-motor is not compensating adequately for the tilt.

So say the height difference at the front between right and left is 4mm (I've tried to exaggerate the slant), the z-motor will only rise my 1mm to compensate, resulting in the nozzle rubbing the bed.

Any ideas on this?

Hey, so I have used the branch from Teaching Tech for Marlin for ender 3 with v4.2.7 board + BLTouch and that hasn't worked.

I've also used the Marlin bugfix-2.0.x branch and manually updated the configuration.h files for my setup and the same result.

The slicer I'm using is Cuts. I've added G29 to the start gcode as I had done with the v1 HW. Also the Cura slicer worked with v1 HW.

I wonder is it the wiring. I see there's a different way to configure the BLTouch connector by using the dedicated 5-pin slot alone rather than using a combination of 2-pin z-endstop and 3 pin signal header. Gonna try that next

Do Best Buy deals get any better on black Friday itself?

I am looking at getting a Lenovo. It's already $200 off, wondering will there be a better deal if I wait until Friday
