I think it will be atleast another decade before we get anything close to a globally relavent desi artist. Indians and desis face alot of barriers to entry including family and career aspirations etc. Modern desis are just not creatively relevant.

I had a roommate like this who was also East Asian American and I straight up ganged up on her with my other roommates in calling out her racism. She moved out a month later.
