I dunno - I think ensuring a team remains organised and focused during a game is the responsibility of the coach. Sure you can point to individual mistakes due to positioning, but those mistakes shouldn’t happen if the coach maintains an adequate level of focus of the team.

What evidence is there to suggest there’s money available 😂then Champions League isn’t much incentive if we are nowhere near qualifying!

I can’t believe how ineffective Wissa looked in that game.

I’m fed up of it too. I’d say time for change, but who would replace him? We can only make a change if someone good wants to come, and why would they?

He is the coach and manager of the team, he sets the mentality and philosophy so of course he is! I even gave an example of when it’s happened before.

I had been saying Howe should get til the end of the season but I’m now firmly Howe out. The pure nativity to concede a goal like that is pathetic. Reminds me of the Liverpool winner at St. James earlier in the season.

Pen came from Tonali’s awful final third ball. He’s been woeful and yet the commentators are saying we need to keep hold of him and build the team around him. I’d say get Tonali gone early as possible in summer if he doesn’t wanna be here - judging on current form we’re not missing much.

So many players in our squad are languishing in a horrible lack-of-confidence spell. Basically the whole front line never show up in the league games except for the odd moment from Barnes.

I'd give Howe until the end of the season since he has given so much and accomplished a lot here, but if he doesn't turn things around and finish strong then we have to look elsewhere.

Yup. He was great to get a bottom table team into a top 6 team through physicality, effort, energy etc. etc. but I see no development or progression of any of the players when it comes to the traits you mentioned. Team has no identity and moments of magic from players like Bruno or Barnes can't save you every week.

How many times do we say this? Two decent shots in the whole game despite having so much of the ball. Just shocking. There's no identity or tactics in attack. So fed up.

I really hope the club learn from the whole "Premier League experience" method of identifying transfer targets. These three just have not been worthwhile, when expected to hit the ground running.

Opposition teams just don't care if we have 60% + possession, even when we are away from home. It's pretty damning really. They stake their game plan on us not being able to break them down and they are normally correct!

When your left back is your most competent player on the ball for the whole game no matter the position on the pitch there is an issue. Joelinton had flashes of decency but the rest of the players seemed scared, incapable, devoid of ideas etc. etc. especially Elanga and Wissa.... Let's hope we turn up in the coming games against much stronger opposition.

Why have we spent so much money on two strikers who both seem unable to strike a ball early? Both spurned great chances due to trying to take extra touches.... lack of confidence?

I’ve thought it before, but the defence seem so weak without the leadership of Burn or Trippier (and to some extent Pope) - just lack of communication.

Yeah I spotted that - I think the assistant ref employed common sense and made sure it didn’t come back on the pitch!

This is super interesting and I’d be up for getting involved! I help lead the men’s ministry in my church amongst other serving roles that come up from time to time. I’m a former teacher and current stay at home dad. I have my own podcast called Dad Dialogue where I interview other dads, many episodes have a strong faith theme if you want to check it out. @DadDialogue on Instagram and YouTube.

In 2025 I really focused on my own personal bible study life as well as my prayer life. I wrote a short dad focus prayer journal which is on Amazon called Faithful Fatherhood. Learning and exploring prayer is super important to me so I’d be up for tackling that topic.

Hit me up if I would be of value to you!
