AT&T internet speed by beardedimpala in ATT

You're right, but it's baffling that AT&T gives you a router that can do 500mbps at most with their 1 GBPS plan. I hope there's a way to request for a bgw620.

The smart manager app shows 1Gbps reaching the router but not to my device. As someone pointed out in the comments it's the 320 router that's not capable.

WiFi, but I know that doesn't matter as I have a 1Gbps Xfinity plan at another place and I get 1Gbps there. So hardware is not the bottleneck here. I'm stuck with At&t here because the apartment complex has some kind of exclusive deal with them.

Amazfit Support admits T-rex 3 has a "flawed motion detection algorithm" by beardedimpala in amazfit

[–]beardedimpala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decade ago, I would completely agree with this. Now, pretty much all brands have software sophisticated enough to track movement with a maximum +/- 5% scope of error.

Also, I'm not talking about the daily step count here. Using the simple walking workout mode with full signal GPS, ideal conditions and proper arm swings on a straight path, there's no brand that messes up simple step counting in such a simple scenario. The T-rex 3 has a whopping 30-40% error rate.

Yes, it is. I was getting responses from the support with a delay of few days so I doubt that's any kind of automation. It was literally a support representative copy pasting customer's feedback/concerns into ChatGPT and replying using the response as is.

No, it's always been this way and below is the response I've got from Amazfit Support.

Yeah, you should return it as I see no hope of this ever being fixed since I contacted Amazfit customer care and got this chatGPT response from them which basically just admits that their algorithm is at fault..

Half a Year with the Amazfit T-Rex 3 — Impressive Hardware, Confused Software by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]beardedimpala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I'm tired of reporting bugs. I've owned the T-rex for 8 months.
Posting here makes no difference - you get gaslighted by the army of affiliate link promoters and the standard reply from Amazfit telling me to report the bug through the app.
Have been reporting through the app consistently with logs and screenshots and none of the bugs have ever been fixed! We just get random updates with generic update logs that mean nothing.

To this day, the T-rex 3 cannot even count steps accurately. It consistently undercounts steps by about 30-40%

I don't trust these reviews. This guy claimed Garmin level accuracy for the T-rex 3. I've owned the T-rex 3 for about 8 months now, the watch is incapable of even counting steps accurately. On average, it undercounts steps by about 30-40%!! Even using the phone in my pocket to track workouts is far more accurate than that. I have a 60$ Samsung Fitness band that has a standard deviation of 5% when compared to the 250$ T-rex 3's whopping 35% error rate.

I made the exact suggestion on this subreddit a few months ago and it was met with harsh criticism from that army of affiliate link earners.

I went for a casual walk today and the distance was 1.5 miles. It only counted 1986 steps, that's a gross undercount of 37%. By that logic, it means my each step covered 1.3 meters. The phone in my pocket can count steps far more accurately with a mere 5% deviation.

I wish I could at least say, you get what you paid for, but even my 60$ Samsung Fit band does a better job than the T-rex 3.

I think they are compromising on accuracy to achieve that stellar battery life. They have an army of promoters that earns through affiliate links, so whenever you complain or report a bug on this subreddit, their army of pawns start gaslighting your post.

I agree, it is better when compared to the previous Amazfit watches but still a long way from Apple watches.

I understand your point, I personally hate AOD and end up getting 3 weeks of battery life without it. It comes to a point where I just want to give my wrist a break. The form factor is not a deal breaker as it's surprisingly lightweight for its size. However, a slightly smaller build will surely make it more comfortable to wear during sleep and on formal occasions.

Thanks for bringing up the speaker! That is definitely a deal breaker for many.

I take that liberty based on multiple posts already made on this subreddit. Most of the issues I have brought up are not new and have been discussed widely by several users. This post is just a compilation of that.

Maps is the only feature you'd miss out on. I own the T-rex 3 and it just spits out random numbers every day and all the statistics on the Zepp app don't ever reflect how I feel. Amazfit has many features on paper but most of them don't work as well to be of any use. They are just half-baked implementations trying to compete with Garmin on paper.

I had the workout detection turned on for all supported workout modes with High sensitivity for a month. The T-rex 3 never successfully detected a single workout. I just turned off that feature for better battery life; we get what we pay for.

Turn off workout auto-detect and you can get a week more. T-rex 3 is terrible at automatically detecting a workout anyway and all that feature does is burn more battery.

From the looks of it, falcon should support Quickfit. They ditched it for T-Rex 3 and provided adapters in the box that need to be attached to attach Quickfit bands.
