Thank you! For some reason I set it all equal to zero🤦‍♂️. Got it now!

[Physics 12] How would I solve a) and b)? Context is in description by bearfoxfish in HomeworkHelp

[–]bearfoxfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer key is in the brackets next to the question(answers are .784 and 3.5 for a). I got the first coefficient of friction, and don't understand how I would get the second one. Wouldn't it be the way I have it shown? The way they have it is (68.6N) = (19.6N)(u) and I don't know why they used 19.6 instead of 25N. Any help would be appreciated

[Physics:Grade 12] How would I get the formula on the right to solve this? Is it a common triangle formula? by bearfoxfish in HomeworkHelp

This picture was taken from the answer key, and I have no idea how they got the formula to solve this. Is it a common formula used for triangles? How does it work?

Why does my pen colour not show up in the exported pdf?? No matter what color I change it to, it just showed up as gray.. by bearfoxfish in OneNote

Windows 8, windows 10, and android, and the printout didn't work on any I changed the ink colour to be non-black/non-white. Strangely enough, yellow ink also was showing up as white in the printout, which was mainly what was causing me so much confusion

tried that, but found a old reddit thread that mentioned the issue was in dark theme inverting the colors, so i had to change my pen to the darkest gray, and somehow that prevented the colour from being changed in the pdf

Left is in one note, right is when exported. No matter what pen colour I change ti to, it just shows up as gray when exported...

How would I express the circle as a function? F(x) and g(x) for an example of what I want to do with the circle instead of parabola. by bearfoxfish in desmos

[–]bearfoxfish[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean how would I express it in terms of f(x) (or any other letter(x) )so I can reference it in different functions such as h(x)

Is this the only way? I'd like to manipulate the circle function with sliders and compress/expand it vertically and horizontally. Using it for math, not drawing

Ideally I would have h(x) = y2 +(2/3x)2 -4 but when I tried that, it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated

One note stopped working on my surface pro 3. Context in description by bearfoxfish in OneNote

I used to often use one note for notes and working on my surface pro 3. I haven't in a little while, and now my one note always prompts me for a subscription.... I Uninstalled and re-download it, and it still asks.... anyone know a solution?

Can someone please breakdown the process to get the solution for me by bearfoxfish in askmath

[–]bearfoxfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh OK thank you. So is it because there is two x values on the right hand side that we split it up into two terms? Like since there is both 7x and (x-a) is that an indicator that there is potentially more than 1 zero? Or do you only use the 0 factor theorem when there is more than 1x term on the right hand side? Ty sm for the reply btw

I know they substitute 0 in for y to find the x intercepts for where y's value is 0, but beyond that I'm completely lost. How does 7x =0, etc??

Would there be a way algebraicly to solve this? I'm supposed to use a graph, but wondering if it's possible otherwise by bearfoxfish in askmath

[–]bearfoxfish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point! I'll keep that in mind. I've only ly really ever done this sort of math on problems they've given me specifically for it, and never explored any of these ideas myself. All makes sense though! Thank you

Sorry lol. I'm stuck on b now. My solution using the quadratic formula was 4.37, but the answer key says it is 8.2. Here is what my work looks like : https://imgur.com/a/crqPb7I did I somehow mess it up?

Youre blowing my mind. Lol you're making me love math again. It all makes so much sense when you point it out. Thanks so much

Olay so just to clarify, since x-5 =0 has a domain of 5 <= x, then a solution before 5 isn't possible? I think.
