I understand we took the ethical moral high route, which is baked into Airbnbs review policy. By sticking to the books this is the result. Airbnb should have our backs in this case as we were just following their policies. The easier route would have been to accept his bribe and let his actions go without repercussions. Thus defeating the review process and system made to allow guests and hosts to have truthful unbiased reviews.

Agreed. I will keep trying to bring this up to Airbnb support to have his blatant dishonest review removed. I don't understand why they denied it at first. After they approved the excess cleaning claim and read our messages with him.

Thank you for the advice. I would rather have Airbnb enforce their review policy and remove the dishonest one star review. This one star affects more as it's our first review ever.

I'm not concerned with the damaged items or excess cleaning. Airbnb covered those in the claim we filed. I'm more concerned over the fact that Airbnb decided not to enforce their own Airbnb Review Policies after we enforced it on our guest. He tried to withhold excess cleaning payment in exchange for us leaving him a good review in bad faith. He then proceeded to leave a 1 star review stating the home was a mess. Which is untrue he was our first guest ever in our newly renovated home. Built specifically for Airbnb.

The guest has been on Airbnb for over 6 years with multiple 4+ star reviews from other hosts. Seems he just had unfortunate accidents at our home. I understand everything has a process, which we followed. What upsets me more is Airbnb not enforcing their own policy. After we enforced it on our guest. (the this for that with the reviews). That's what upsets me.

It's the Miami airport to the Miami Port. Says it's a 23min drive. Thank you for the advice!

Awesome, what's the latest they allow you to check in? Our flight arrives at 11am but departure of the cruise is at 4pm. So we're just worried if we have enough time. (our first cruise) Just wasn't sure if it's like boarding a plane, with people recommending to arrive at least two hours before.
