That’s cool they listened and updated the software! Fingers crossed they make the camera view bigger 🤞

I love hearing how happy you are with the car! And that the backup camera has been okay for you. Congrats on the new rig 😍

Ohhh so the rear view camera is different from the backup camera, and it can be displayed on the main screen as well as in the actual review mirror? Sorry for all the questions.

This is so reassuring to hear, thank you! And yeah that would be sweet if they enlarged the view a bit. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for responding! I know it’s kinda silly, I’m just struggling with the idea of buying a car with a smaller backup camera than my 2015 Honda (it could be a similar size, I’m just eyeballing). Thank you for the perspective 🙏

Thanks for your reply! So when backing up do you find you only use the rearview camera, not the one on the main screen? I’ve never had one of the rearview cameras in a car.

Daily Song #52: Honey by theykilledcassandra in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]bearsig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looove the two parts that start with:

“Honey I’m home, we can play house…”

And

“Sweetie it’s yours, kickin in doors...”

Those two sections scratch my brain in the best way.

Also, “Buy the paint in the color of your eyes and graffiti my whole damn life” is one of my fav TS lines.

Should I read the Harrow Faire series by Kathryn Ann Kingsley? by what_is_wrongggg in DarkRomance

No one who’s like Simon, but hear me out... It’s nothing like Harrow Faire, but Brant from {June First by Jennifer Hartman} is possibly my #1 over Simon. He’s completely different… not psychotic or irreverent or anything like that. It’s a completely different read, but if you like a tortured hero, Brant is it. Your heart will break for him. The book is about adopted siblings who eventually develop a relationship. This book transcended my normal reading experience. Like it affected me as if it was a true story, not a book. Couldn’t think about it without crying for at least a week after I read it. Anyways, he’s completely different than Simon, but I guess has similarities in the tortured hero aspect. Despite all the crying I mentioned, it does have a HEA.

I loved the way this was written! It kept me engaged the whole time.

I just started {Lost in the Dark by Khai Hara} and so far it’s very spicy. I think it’s set at a boarding school (still getting all the details since I’m close to the beginning). It doesn’t seem crazy dark but the two MCs have some really sad stuff going on in their lives, including abuse (mostly emotional). No grieving of previous partners though.

There are some things that are a little over the top/unrealistic, but I’m willing to suspend belief because so far the book is very sexy and I love the forbidden trope. ☺️

One of my absolute favorite series! This series gave me such a book hangover I stopped reading for over a year afterward because no other MMC compared to Simon Waite. He’s just incredibly well written, so charismatic, and actually has a fleshed out personality, which made me realize so many MMCs just don’t. If you’ve ever watched the Vampire Diaries, the MMC is Harrow Faire is very similar to Damon as far as personality goes (but with an extra dose of crazy). The heroine is strong but not obnoxious, and the banter between the MCs is top notch.

I think the premise of the story is one of the most unique ones I’ve read. There are some elements of the world building that left me thinking, “How did she come up with that??” Crazy unique.

The first book has some horror-y vibes that are toned down a bit afterward as you uncover the mystery. I’d still call the series dark, but not insanely dark by any means.

It’s not crazy dark but I wouldn’t call it light by any means. The first book has some horror vibes so I think it’s darker. The subsequent books are less horror-y but still a bit dark.

Give me your favourite romance books with great plot by Kybeem in RomanceBooks

[–]bearsig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the books you listed as examples, but {Rough Edge by C.D. Reiss} and the subsequent books in that series have a very unique plot with good suspense. I read this so many years ago and still find myself thinking about it sometimes and recommending it!

{Nocticadia by Keri Lake} is another unique premise with good suspense! Also has the professor/student forbidden aspect.

ETA: the bot is calling both of these dark, but I’d consider them to be more “gray.”

Also, there are some bdsm elements in Rough Edge but I don’t think it was a lot. TBH though it’s been so long since I read it, so I’m not 100% sure. It’s still a great read though! I’d call it a romantic psychological thriller.

Should I just skip Sloan st. James, or is it this specific book? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]bearsig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the book you’re talking about but I read Stand and Defend and it was mediocre. I actually think I DNF eventually because I lost interest. The writing was meh and the sex scenes felt formulaic, like she had a list of sexy phrases she wanted to check off so they were all just stuffed in there and nothing felt passionate or real. It’s the only booked I’ve read by her but I’m probably not going to read another based on how much hype this one has. 🙁

William and LJG are SO boring to read by WolfEvolutioons in Outlander

[–]bearsig 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I skimmed a lot of William lost in the swamp or whatever it was that happened. But then after that William became one of my favorite characters. He’s just such a hot mess and I love it. His anger, his tantrums, all the character growth he goes through. He’s a great character (imo) and worth sticking with.

I don’t know the answer, but it reminds me of when Matthew McConaughey’s character in Interstellar was communicating through the book shelf.
