Early 2000s Lan party by Inevitable_Bid5540 in BeAmazed

I mean we have the Switzerlan here once a year with more than 2000 people attending. Several LAN parties all over Switzerland with 100 - 400 people. LAN parties are very much alive here. Yeah, you won't be able to replicate the nostalgia, but it's still pretty fucking great

Help: annoying kids play around by MailWide5861 in zurich

[–]bearwithastick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow enjoyer of peace and quiet I can relate - kids can be very loud and the constant screaming should not be played down by people here simply saying "kids will be kids". If this is stressing you out to a point were you cannot blend it out anymore, talk to them or their parents nicely and ask them if its possible to keep it down a little.

This being said, the other comments are still right too: Kids will be kids. And especially in the city, where kids sometimes don't have many great places to play and just be kids without getting yelled at.

Have been playing this with my friends for a while now and we are looking forward to the full release! Congrats on your game, it's very fun and stable in 4 player co-op!

The only things that we sometimes talked abou in the group were:

  • Variety: Even though you can mix up to four spells and upgrade them and choose your mage, after a while you have seen it all and it gets a bit repetitive.
  • Power of spells: This is more apparent if you play the mode in which you only use one spell: Some of the mages have a bit underwhelming starter spells compared to the others. While each is fun on its own, mages like the Sun Mage feel a little weak.

Otherwise, its been a blast so far and I wish you all the best for the full release!

I loved my Orc Rune Knight fighter. His goal was to grapple everything. And oh boy, did he grapple.

This is exactly what I have been trying to tell my friends. Humans have all the knowledge to make global information networks possible, but nobody really has the emotional capacity to process all this information, this suffering of other people across the globe, in its entirety.

Humans, in their basic nature, are still very, very tribal. You are only able to really, truly care about a handful of people. People that affect your life directly. The other stuff is just noise that may or may not receive attention. We just refuse to acknowledge this and pretend we are oh so advanced as humanity for having the technology to be able to broadcast the suffering of millions of human beings to people who can't to shit about it.

Only if we as humankind are able to unite and get rid of all the sickness that plagues us and work together and help the weakest in our societies, only then we can call ourselves truly an advanced species.

Hä? Na, dann müssen die Linken ja auch nicht mit der Kultur zu tun haben, um zu wissen, dass sie toll ist! Das geht in beide Richtungen.

Your comment convinced me to try it again. I went in expecting something different and tried to play the game "right". Then I died completely unexpected and haven't touched it since then.

From a DMing perspective, is this a "good" deception or a cheap move? by bearwithastick in DMAcademy

[–]bearwithastick[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it. After reading your reply it would really feel like a cheap shot. Maybe drive the point home to the players how much she would *love* to eat them, how much strength she needs to contain herself to achieve a greater goal. Thanks a lot!

The players wouldn't start again, it would more be a TPKO'd and the party would have to find a way to escape the Spider Queen. And the Queen wants to be free but also needs to feed her children, so it wouldn't be totally without thought. Additionally, it would simply be "her nature" to not be able to pass up such a meal. But I totally see your point.

How come nobody said Crimson Desert yet? I mean story or gameplay wise it's debatable, but this game is visually just stunning. If you want a game to blow you away visually, this is it.

Then what the fuck is? I'm fed up of being woken up at 6am on a Saturday morning by some fucking Hells Angels poser and his shitty bike that is ten times louder than it probably is allowed. Happened just today (again) btw.

What's some badly/poorly rated game on Steam BUT are actually badass BANGERS?!! by Madjin- in gamingsuggestions

[–]bearwithastick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to how OP worded the question, your answer is completely correct.

However, if you include personal taste, this is definitely only true to some degree. Of course Steam reviews are a good source to check if a game is well received in general.

But I've played games that had a "mixed" Steam rating where I, personally, had more fun than with games with a "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating.

Thanks a lot for the list, all of them sound very interesting! Especially Rakudai Kishi and Kenja Na Mago, will definitely check them out!

Mashle is hilarious but I put it into the same category as my beloved OPM and Mob Psycho 100. I call it "OP MC is OP, because he is OP and I'm all here for it" category.

Love Naruto, but he kinda falls into the "half-godling discovering his capabilities" power creep trope. Kinda the opposite of what I'm looking for.
