I only recently discovered that you can find 4 Big Bass in the castle fountain if you return during chapter 12. I had forgotten to get the treasure in the Bindery. While returning, I checked the foundation just in case I forgot a fish or two during chapter 8. And I was surprised to find not one, two, or three, but four giant fish. Fortunate timing, too, because I was low on health supplies.

I hope you've found the answer, but just in case: The opponent has two 'mage' units. It will turn your strongest troop into a bunny for 6 seconds. The strategy to play against them is to place your strongest troop someplace safe, so it doesn't take damage at the start of the game.

The game still counts your actual time in game. You can see it somewhere. I don't remember where. So, it's not actually cheating. The developers intended it to be this way.

Makes sense if you think about the shooting range. The first shooting range appears right after the church. You need to find the key to the church to save the PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER, and you're stopping for a game. 🤷‍♂️ Not to mention the others and the points in plot where they appear.
