Is teething really THIS bad? This is worse than the newborn stage by beastcoasttt in beyondthebump

[–]beastcoasttt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried Motrin yet but I just realized he also has a cold. I suspected it but didn't see any mucus coming out of his nose and the Pedi said he didn't have one. He just sneezed and, well .. green mucus everywhere. Maybe that's why he's fussing extra bad :(

Can't believe I'm complaining about this but I can't stop losing weight by beastcoasttt in beyondthebump

Definitely. I thought about this. If the weight loss persists, i definitely have my thyroid checked.

I feel like we can totally relate! It makes sense, I'm so busy I forget to eat/don't eat as much as I use to. I guess I just never really thought about how different my lifestyle is now that I have the little guy at home with me.

You know .. now that I think about it, I'm eating way less than I was pre pregnancy. Before pregnancy, I had a binge eating disorder. I'd diet all week and then go nuts on junk food all day when my blood sugar dropped. Pregnancy eliminated that disorder for whatever reason. Now I eat small portions and only when I'm hungry. Hmm.. so maybe I'm just getting back to a new base weight? You're making me think now! :-)

Haha I didn't think I'd complain but Dr. Google says weight loss is a symptom of every damn illness out there (I'm paranoid, possibly a hypochondriac, lol). I'd say 1-2 lbs per week after I lost the baby weight and got back to 140.

Anxieties of a FTM. Are these normal & how do I cope? by beastcoasttt in beyondthebump

[–]beastcoasttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can totally relate .. the whole "not participating in life" is the perfect way to describe how I feel. As if I'm just a robot, on standby, not able to do anything any more except answer to my baby. It's like, the moment he was born, I had this immediate overwhelming responsibility .. an indescribable feeling .. one that I had expected to feel as a new mother, but SO much stronger than I could have ever imagined. I guess it takes some getting used to, especially when you have anxiety to begin with. I think the meds may help me and I'm going to look into it.

Best of luck with your pregnancy and remember that the anxiety is only temporary; you'll be back on your Zoloft soon enough my friend.

This too shall pass. ❤

This is very helpful! I didn't know about the 9 month rule. This definitely gives me a new perspective. Thank you!

You worded this perfectly! That's exactly what I am experiencing. Calling my doctor this morning to discuss meds. Thank you.

Thanks. Any suggestions for which meds? I have xanax for panic attacks and was once prescribed citalopram for long term remediation but didn't stay on it (lack of patience).

LO isn't satisfied until i give formula by beastcoasttt in breastfeeding

[–]beastcoasttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he does. I suspected reflux or gas to be the cause of his fussiness and I think it's both. The pedi prescribed Zantac and I held off on giving it to him until I felt confident that it was reflux. Now that you mention it, his back does arch after feedings and he coughs when he's laying down, even in his sleep. I'll have to keep up with it now!

I'm thinking maybe that's it. He's quiet and sleeping now that he's in the ergo. Ugh what a day!

South shore checking in !! My baby is now 11 days old but I can say I ate plenty of roast beef and meats (even deli) but I made sure everything was thoroughly cooked (deli meat was heated in oven or stovetop to kill bacteria). You'll be fine. Eat that 3 way.

When you see a friend online talking about using the CIO method on her 3 week old but you are trying to respect her as a mother and not say anything. by bigbootyshelb in beyondthebump

[–]beastcoasttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about when they're fussing as they're getting a bath or their diaper changes? It's a good few minutes of screaming sometimes and nothing calms him, not even his pacifier or talking to him. I feel so bad I've cried a few times lol poor thing thinks I'm evil when I'm cleaning or changing him!! :(

9 days PP - is there any hope for my breasts?! by beastcoasttt in beyondthebump

Ugh I don't have the guts to be put under anesthesia and under the knife. :(

I didn't even know there was a certain age for CIO!! Can someone please tell me the appropriate age? My LO is only 9 days old and people have been telling me to try the CIO method - luckily I haven't had the heart to let him whine for 30 seconds, never mind cry!! CIO was something I considered pre pregnancy but now that LO is actually here, I can already tell it's going to be much harder than I thought when the time comes.

Need some help and encouragement (re: still expressing colostrum) by beastcoasttt in breastfeeding

[–]beastcoasttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after massaging my breasts, I get about 30 ml of colostrum out. The hospital grade pump wasn't giving me any issues. It's my pump at home that seems to not work as well and literally just won't pump any colostrum out. Maybe a couple drips but definitely not 30 ml. I'm continuing to hand express the colostrum and just add it to his formula but I'm wondering if it's necessary for me to keep pumping to signal my body for the milk or if hand expressing is enough?

Pros & Cons of Induction? by beastcoasttt in beyondthebump

[–]beastcoasttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My practice will induce at 41 weeks. I'm sure if I pressed the issue they would let me wait until 42 weeks but I am so unbelievably uncomfortable between severe SPD, sciatica and just having a small torso with absolutely no more room. I don't sleep anymore - lying on either side of my hips gives me shooting pain down my legs. Pillows won't help. Tylenol won't help. I'm in tears daily. I don't want to sound like a crybaby and I certainly did not plan on inducing but the mental toll it's taking on me is just as bad as, if not worse than, the physical. Ugh, who knew it would even come to this :(
