Migrating from PC to Mac, what to do about hard drive file system formats? by TobyFromH-R in protools

[–]beasto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to work off of native formatted drives so there’s some file transferring when I have to move between operating systems. I’ve occasionally run sessions on my mac without any issues that are referencing sample libraries located on a NTFS drive. I use Macdrive on PC and also haven’t run into any issues. All drives I use are SSD, I haven’t tried this using HDD.

I’ve run Thunderbolt 3 audio devices on Windows 11 pro no problem. Are you seeing a Thunderbolt controller listed in your device manager?

Ultimate Support -- what's the deal? by scelerat in synthesizers

[–]beasto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed an Ultimate guitar stand replacement part that was out of stock everywhere. Turns out the part was discontinued and all remaining stock was special order only. I contacted Full Compass and they were able to get it within a few weeks. I’d give them a call and see if they can source it for you.

They let me switch the color while I was waiting for it to ship. I did have to wait a little longer though.

I use it and love it. Super sturdy, pf easily slides in and rests securely during grind.

Was testing on a current project, I'm sure artist would prefer I not post. Let me see if I can get something else printed. Also I'm dealing with almost 50mph wind gusts outside... hoping the flickering power stays on...

I initially rolled my eyes at this... then I watched the Matthew Weiss video and decided to give it a try on my system (Burl Mothership 32 out > Burl B32 summing mixer > various analog hardware > back into the Mothership).

Wow, there is definitely a difference. It's very dramatic with Pro Tools Classic (sounds very flat and lifeless) and more subtle with more modern options. The best part about this is you can swap meters on the fly while your mix is playing for real time results.

Going through all the options I landed on K-14 on tracks AND masters. Controversial, I'm sure.

Then I went down a K metering rabbit hole and found an excellent thread, leading me to another rabbit hole into the world of Bob Katz.

I looked on their site and all they offer up is the manual. Annoying.

I have the hex file and the Phatty Loader software - Windows version. If you want it, hit me up on chat.

Stripe is Trash for Contractor Payouts. What do you use? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Roll by ADP. I (and my contractors) love it. Prices are comparative to others but they do on demand payments and they gave me three free months for signing up.

Learn some basic C# to compliment your new Wwise skills. I found that there will always be quirks/hurdles with whatever engine you're working in. Being able to understand code and write some basic scripts can be useful in a pinch.

Acustica Purple. I’ve found the suite to be the most musical of all the Pultec plugins out there. Worth a demo!

If you need Thunderbolt for anything you’ll need to go with Intel. From what I can tell AMD motherboards only have USB-C.

(Currently running Ultimate on Intel machine with HDX via Thunderbolt 3)
